Life Changing Experience
July 27, 2026by: Rylee Soifer - United StatesProgram: Semester at Sea: Global Study Abroad on a Floating Campus
I graduated from high school a semester early, and the only way I wanted to spend my semester was by being abroad. I've known about Semester at Sea for around 6 years and I wanted to take advantage of this opportunity. I searched up the requirements to be accepted and luckily fit all the requirements most importantly being 18, so immediately I applied. I then got an email back the next morning saying I got accepted into the program and that email brought me to tears in the middle of one of my classes. I couldn't wait to board the MV World Odyssey and embark on this journey of a lifetime. On the ship, I gained so much knowledge about different cultures and I was able to be fully immersed in them, not just sticking to the touristy things offered. Semester at Sea does an amazing job keeping the students' safety in country as a priority with having mandatory “Pre-Port meetings” the night before arriving in a country, and offering field programs which are ship run excursions with ship faculty leading them. The community on the ship was nothing I have ever experienced before. We were so close knit and it felt like I was truly in a connected, caring, and welcoming environment. I met the people I never imagined I'd connect with, and they ended up becoming the best connections I've ever made with people. Semester at Sea also helped me get out of my comfort zone which led me to have experiences I would have never imagined I'd have, best example being running a half marathon in Vigo, Spain even though I'm not a runner and have never been a runner. Semester at Sea has given me the world and the opportunity to appreciate it to its fullest. I left the ship with my passport full, but my heart is even fuller with people, memories, and connections I will forever cherish. Semester at Sea was truly the best experience I have ever had and would recommend it to anyone as it was life changing.

Experience of a life time!
July 10, 2026by: Xavier Bonilla - United StatesProgram: Semester at Sea: Global Study Abroad on a Floating Campus
One of the most underrated aspect of semester at sea is the ship campus itself. Being able to live so close to your friends and just walking a few flight of stairs to your classroom and being able to sit down with your professors for lunch is such an amazing experience. It's eternal sunsets, it's endless travel stories from your friends, it's lifetime of memories. Highly recommend. One of the best decisions I made. And still day dream about this experience, still talk and travel to meet my SAS friends 4 years later.

I had the time of my life
July 10, 2026by: Zowie Jackson - United StatesProgram: Semester at Sea: Global Study Abroad on a Floating Campus
I have not experienced anything like semester at sea before, therefore giving me a whole lot of different lenses to look at the world with. I completely enjoyed my experience and understand the importance of understanding others concerns, communication, communities, and countries. A overall wonderful experience that has changed my views as well as the way I live and who I am as a person.

Chiang Mai, Home Away From Home
March 18, 2026by: Hanna Wilhite - United StatesProgram: USAC Thailand: Chiang Mai-Southeast Asian Economic Studies
My semester in Chiang Mai Thailand was one of the best chapters of my life. I met so many incredible friends in the program, many of whom I still keep in touch with now. The city was perfect for living in, exploring, and travelling around. The staff from the Thai buddies to Jum, the program coordinator made it their job to make us feel at home and comfortable while also encouraging us to branch out and try new things. Between the food, friendly people, and amazing memories, this is a program I'd recommend to everyone wanting to go abroad!

Amazing Experience!
February 09, 2026by: Gema Sanchez Gamez - United StatesWhile in Thailand, I completed my Political Science minor, taking courses such as Thai Foreign Policy and Fake News, Censorship, and the Politics of Truth. Studying politics, media, and governance while living under a constitutional monarchy offered a depth of understanding that no classroom at home could replicate. Community is central to who I am, and I often associate belonging with a shared language. While I was nervous about navigating a language barrier in Thailand, I was drawn to a culture rooted in collectivism, respect, and care for others. Through CIS Abroad, I found community across cultures and backgrounds. I am endlessly grateful to David, Ann, and Jenny, who made us feel at home, answered our questions, and reminded us that belonging can exist far from familiarity. Choosing to study abroad was not easy as a first-generation college student. That is why I am especially grateful to those who believed in me and encouraged me along the way. Traveling and studying in Southeast Asia deepened my understanding of the region’s history, economics, and political climate in ways I will carry with me for the rest of my life. This experience challenged preconceived notions and reaffirmed my belief that studying abroad is not just an escape from reality, but a meaningful rite of passage.
Sincerely an experience I will never forget!
January 31, 2026by: Hanna Wilhite - United StatesProgram: USAC Thailand: Chiang Mai-Southeast Asian Economic Studies
USAC in Thailand gave me numerous opportunities to go out of my comfort zone, travel, learn, and make memories. I made life-long friends in the program, many of whom I continue to stay in contact with. Now that I am back in the United States, I miss the friendliness of the Thai people and the DELICIOUS cheap food. I, along with many other program participants are already trying to plan a trip back to South East Asia.

Therapy Abroad in Thailand - CSD AAC
January 14, 2026by: Cassie Pilling - United StatesI have nothing but great things to say about my time in Chiang Mai! This opportunity was a nice mixture of clinical observation, hands-on learning, and cultural immersion. I will never forget the partnering foundations and families we had the privilege of working with, and I am deeply grateful for the trust and openness they shared with us. This program pushed me outside of my comfort zone and allowed me to grow not only as a future clinician but also as a person. Every day was intentionally designed and filled with meaningful experiences. While the schedule was often physically and mentally demanding, I truly believe this intensity allowed us to make the most of every opportunity and fully engage in all that the program had to offer. I am also extremely thankful for our local facilitator P Pann, whose organization, knowledge, and passion made this trip run so smoothly! Overall, this trip was unforgettable and something I will keep with me throughout my future career.
One of the most amazing personal growth opportunities!
January 11, 2026by: Allison Marr - United StatesThis Therapy Abroad Trip brought so many positive things to my life. I got the chance to practice my clinical and interdisciplinary collaboration skills, got to immerse myself in a completely different culture than my own, and I made some amazing friendships that I will cherish long after my time abroad. Everything down to the food and transportation was arranged and thoroughly organized (thanks to our local program facilitator P Pann!), which made it easier for us students to enjoy every aspect of the cultural and clinical experiences.
Incredible Trip!
January 11, 2026by: Siena Apsey - United StatesProgram: Thailand: Pre-Physical Therapy College Prep Program
I wasn’t sure what to expect on this trip but my experience was something that will stick with me for a long time. I had an amazing time and met amazing people and gained experiences that will help me throughout my entire life. Amara was an incredible leader for our pt/ot group. She always made everything a fun time and picked out the best places to eat. I would absolutely recommend to anyone that they should go on a trip through therapy abroad. The staff and facilitators are all incredible and it is easy to tell that they enjoy their job.
Lizbeth Martinez
January 11, 2026by: Lizbeth Martinez - United StatesMy time studying abroad in Thailand was truly unforgettable and deeply meaningful. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed into a culture filled with warmth, compassion, and connection. Through this experience, I was able to observe Occupational Therapy in real-life settings, work with children, and witness the impact of care across different cultural perspectives. Every day challenged me to grow, not only as a student, but as a person. Living abroad pushed me outside my comfort zone, helped me gain confidence and independence, and reminded me why I chose this path in the first place. The friendships I formed, the lessons I learned, and the moments I shared will stay with me forever. Thailand didn’t just teach me about OT, it helped shape who I am becoming.
Once in a lifetime experience!
January 11, 2026by: Gracie Young - United StatesThis was such a fun and educational experience! I grew so much personally and professionally over these past two weeks! Everything I saw was eye-opening and I look forward to taking what I have learned with me about the culture and clinical practices in Thailand to the U.S.! Thank you for this once in a lifetime opportunity!!
Unforgettable Vet Adventure in Thailand
November 05, 2025by: Arianna Littles - United StatesStudying veterinary science in Thailand was an unforgettable and eye-opening experience. I gained hands-on skills working with elephants, livestock, and small animals while learning from incredibly dedicated veterinarians and caretakers. Every day brought new challenges, field clinics, lab work, and real-world problem-solving that pushed me to grow both academically and personally. Outside of class, I explored temples, tried amazing food, and connected with locals and fellow students. This experience expanded my perspective, boosted my confidence, and strengthened my passion for global animal health. I highly recommend it to anyone pursuing veterinary medicine!

Cannot Recommend It Enough!
October 01, 2025by: Eugene BarnesProgram: USAC Thailand: Chiang Mai-Southeast Asian Economic Studies
I absolutely loved my time studying abroad with USAC in Chiang Mai, Thailand! The city is wonderful (as somebody who is not a city person), very walk-able, and near to a lot of other great places to visit. The CMU USAC staff are phenomenal and planned a ton of great events to help us get to know the area and were great resources for everything. The Thai buddies program that USAC sets up is a really great way to meet Thai students and get to know the area better. The courses were not very difficult (compared to my usual STEM courses) but they were very engaging. Chiang Mai is very affordable and I always felt safe. The food is phenomenal, I miss it every day! I got my degree in geology and didn't take any major related courses while abroad, but I still had a lot of opportunities to engage with my field outside of classes. I truly cannot recommend this program enough! (I also have pics and a website if you want those! I couldn't get the form on the website to go through but I uploaded an image there)
Studying in beautiful Barcelona :)
September 16, 2025by: Ceren Vuranok - TurkeyProgram: Affordable, Comprehensive Study and Intern Abroad Programs
Studying in Barcelona had been a dream! I took classes in Entrepreneurship and New Venture Creation, and Spanish Art and Cultural Heritage at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. My 7 weeks in that paradise were filled with exploration, inspiration, and so much fun. From amazing people to the delicious cuisine, and stunning architecture to the colorful culture, Spain should be at the top of the must-visit countries list. My favorite activity, besides spending my day at the beach, was wandering around the city without a map and being amazed by the beauty hidden in every corner of Barcelona. Thanks to the Spanish Art and Cultural Heritage class, I learned even more about this impressive history and culture. CIS helped me through every step of adapting to studying and living in Barcelona. They planned fun events for us, such as various tours in famous parts of Barcelona, beach picnic and volleyball, wine tasting, tours to towns in Spain, and cooking classes. I stayed at Aparto Pallars, which is conveniently located near the metro station, from which you can take the metro anywhere. I'm so grateful for this experience, and I'm definitely willing to go back to Barcelona or any other program with CIS!
Studying in Thailand for 3 months
September 06, 2025by: Serri Wedhoff - United StatesThis was my first experience leaving my home country and I don't think I could have had a better experience. With the help of my program and my group of friends, I was able to have so much fun while still feeling safe and having a stable help network to rely on if I need it. The onsite program staff was very helpful for anything that me or my friends needed, as well as any questions we were concerned about as well. I definitely felt safe travelling in this country and with this program. I also think that this is a great way to start travelling to other surrounding countries in Southeast Asia!
DO SEMESTER AT SEA!!!
September 03, 2025by: Tristan Bartosiewicz - United StatesProgram: Semester at Sea: Global Study Abroad on a Floating Campus
I just studied abroad with SAS in spring of 2025. To say this experience changed my life would be an understatement. I cannot recommend this enough. The learning opportunities are amazing, the staff and faculty do everything they can to make this your home away from home, and the traveling experiences are ONCE IN A LIFETIME!

Enriching Way Of Life
September 02, 2025by: Roma Carter - United StatesCIS abroad not only brought me to the exact country where I needed to be, but it also showed me the real Thai way of life. From northern Thailand, inhabited by 80-year-old Elephants, to its southern coastal islands, I saw Thailand in all its glory and beauty. A country that has so much to offer, CIS made sure I maximized my Thai experience in the short amount of months I stayed there.

Amazing Experience!
September 01, 2025by: Avery Kauffman - United StatesProgram: USAC Thailand: Chiang Mai-Southeast Asian Economic Studies
Deciding to study abroad in Chiang Mai through USAC was one of the best decisions I have ever made. The staff was ridiculously helpful and the city itself was amazing. Wonderful field trips and all of the students became very close. Highly recommend a specialized program as the community you gain from being in the same cohort as other students is hard to beat. I would highly recommend this program to anyone, but especially those who love nature and learning about Buddhism and psychology. The professors are amazing as well.
A program that changed my view of life forever
September 01, 2025by: Penelope Flake - United StatesProgram: USAC Thailand: Chiang Mai-Southeast Asian Economic Studies
Studying abroad in Chiang Mai was the best decision I have made during my academic career so far. This program has a stellar staff that genuinely care about you and want you to succeed. During my Spring semester, I was able to take several interesting courses including Buddhist Psychology and Buddhism in Thailand, which had accompanying field trips and applied practice. The community around us was welcoming as we were introduced to our "Thai Buddies" who helped us get acclimated to the new environment around us. I spent my days exploring Chiang Mai and trying a wide variety of new foods. The Songkran water festival in April was life-changing and an incredible cultural experience. I would recommend this program to anyone who isn't afraid to explore and embrace a new culture. The dorm situation was superb, with a spacious single room and bathroom all to myself on a floor with the other students in the program. We had a community built on our shared classes, went out for dinner together each night, and went on arranged field trips with our program advisors. I can't emphasize enough how amazing the field trips were, and I recommend signing up for all of them (most are completely free). We had the chance to make traditional crafts, bathe elephants, tour gardens and farms, and bicycle through the countryside. Additionally we explored waterfalls and national parks with our new friends from Chiang Mai University through the Thai Buddies program. During this study abroad, we had several periods of holidays from class and many people were able to explore more of Thailand and visit places like Bangkok and Krabi. This is one of the least expensive programs, but it has some of the greatest staff and field trips of any program and I would highly recommend it.
