Locations
Because it is a global profession, you will be able to study marketing abroad at most major universities around the world. The main factor which generally limits your potential destinations is the language barrier, as most universities will utilize their national language for marketing courses. If you are bilingual (or are interested in becoming so), studying marketing abroad in a non-English speaking country can be a great leap forward in your language apprehension.
Some of the best marketing programs in the world are located in countries as broad and diverse as Australia, Spain, India, and Singapore. The United States, England, and Canada are also widely regarded for the quality of their marketing programs. Admittance to the top schools in all of these countries can be extremely competitive, but luckily there are many marketing study abroad programs out there that can help you gain admittance through an exchange program or otherwise.
When it comes down to it, there is no one destination which is best to study marketing abroad in; it really comes down to your personal and professional interests. Try to pick a country you think will challenge you the most, or where you could potentially see yourself working abroad someday. You never know what opportunities may arise while you study marketing abroad!
Program Options
Marketing is a highly versatile academic subject, and courses therein come in all different shapes and scopes. You can generally study marketing abroad at both the undergraduate and graduate level, in pursuit of a variety of different degrees such as a B.A. (which focuses on the humanities and social sciences aspect of marketing), B.S. (which focuses on the mathematical and analytical side of marketing), or M.B.A (which focuses on the management side of marketing).
Some common specializations within the field of marketing include sports marketing, online marketing, decision science, and business management with marketing. International marketing is also an especially common focus for students who decide to study marketing abroad. If you study marketing abroad at a foreign university then it is likely you will have access to a wide range of different courses; for specialized marketing study abroad programs, your options will likely be limited to a few different courses that are offered within the program.
Marketing study abroad programs are most commonly available for summer, semester, or year-long durations. The long you study marketing abroad for, the greater opportunity for culture immersion, but the more time you will miss from your own school. Talk to your home school about what is the most plausible route to studying abroad while staying on your current marketing degree track.
Travel Tips
Push the Boundaries. Academically and experientially, studying marketing abroad will expand your knowledge and comfort zone into an entirely new global context. 21st century, here you come.
Communicate. At its core, marketing is about communicating information to a target audience. By practicing this across a foreign cultural context, you will challenge yourself to further master the art.
Discover. Let’s be real, studying marketing abroad will not be all about the academics. This is your opportunity to get out there and discover the world as you thought you knew it. It is an experience you will never ever forget.
Marketing is one of the most popular fields to study abroad in anywhere in the world. Taking your academic pursuits to another country will challenge you to develop innovative new approaches to the art of the sale by elevating above national and cultural paradigms. Studying marketing abroad will further give you the opportunity to enhance your communication skills, broaden the understanding of your target demographic, and network across the international marketplace. You’d be hard-pressed to find a reason not to study marketing abroad!

Life Changing Experience!
September 02, 2026by: Samuel Acosta - United StatesMy time in Italy was one of the most amazing, life-changing, and enjoyable experiences I have ever had. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to visit Italy for the first time, especially since it was also my first time flying on an airplane. I loved how affordable the program was for everything that was included. We traveled throughout Central Italy, enjoyed amazing food and accommodations, and were guided by caring faculty and tour guides who truly wanted us to have the best experience possible. This trip gave me unforgettable memories, new friendships, and experiences that I will always be grateful for.
Best 4 weeks of summer!
September 02, 2026by: Supriya Dahal - United StatesI had so much fun studying abroad in Costa Rica through Arcos. My program director Angie was super caring! The university professors and the rest of Arcos staff were super friendly as well. I learned a lot of Spanish, ate really good food, made some new friends and explored really beautiful places. The study abroad had excursions and activities planned throughout the weeks. There was enough structure to have something to look forward to, but also enough flexibility to do something on your own!
Amazing experience with an extremely smooth, well-ran program.
September 02, 2026by: Jay Robertson - United StatesI had an unforgettable time in Italy with Molise Italian Studies. It was my first time visiting a country outside of the United States, so I was a little worried at first. However, the program was so well run and smooth that I soon had no worries whatsoever. Our guide, Andrea, was excellent and our trip would not have been what it was without him. I would highly recommend Molise Italian Studies to any one who is interested in Italian culture, history, or exploring another country.

MUST DO SEMESTER ABROAD
August 26, 2026by: Kalia Helgesen - United StatesProgram: Study Abroad in Gold Coast, Australia with WorldStrides
Studying abroad was the best choice I've ever made. Worldstrides, as a partnership program, was the best. The first week, we met for orientation in Cairns, Australia, and they took care of hotel and excursion expenses (this includes the Great Barrier Reef). It was a great first week getting introduced to Australia and my program. They were very helpful before and during my time in Australia, always there for questions, concerns, and planning a handful of group activities + one overnight trip! They were truly a blessing while abroad.

A Life Changing Semster!
August 25, 2026by: Greta Schulz - United StatesProgram: SAI Study Abroad at Florence University of the Arts (Italy)
It has been about 3 months since I came home from Study Abroad, and I still haven't found the right words to describe this experience! When I left for study abroad, I was stepping into the unknown - moving to a new city, far away from everything and everyone I had ever known. Some moments challenged me, pushed me out of my comfort zone, and forced me to grow in ways I never expected. Along the way, Ifound a new sense of independence, confidence, and trust in myself! What I will cherish the most are the people. The friendships I made, my roommates and forever friends who turned into family. They were there for every laugh, every tear, and served as a shoulder to lean on when I needed it most! I was lucky enough to do something most people only dream of. I got to experience cultures, traditions, and places that opened my eyes to how beautiful our world is! I left study abroad with more than just pictures and postcards, but lessons, stories, friendships, and memories that will last a lifetime!

Absolutely Zero Regrets
August 20, 2026by: Grace Lentz - United StatesProgram: SAI Study Abroad at Florence University of the Arts (Italy)
Studying abroad through SAI was the best choice I have made in my academic, personal, and career life yet. Not only are the staff and program well structured, but they truly allow you to be supported, make friends, and experience places/things you never would have expected. As a participant of the 2-city program, I experienced life in two cities of Italy, each unique but special. While La Spezia helped me settle into Italian culture and appreciate the slower pace of life, the hustle and bustle of Florence showed me why Italy is such a destination for people to experience. My 4 months flew by faster than I could imagine, and staying so busy and immersed (in the best way) now allows me to share about my time- and how I have absolutely no regrets. Being involved in the moment, taking time to talk to locals and do "non-touristy" trips/things, and keeping an open mind can shape your life and is truly what makes the experience. It's the little things. People watching. A scrumptious cappuccino. An immersive class experience. Studying abroad is, yes, about education and pursuing a career, but so much of the learning and growing for it are done outside of the classroom, often through unexpected moments. I always felt the support of SAI staff, and their focus on the student experience at a personal level created a sense of belonging and home away from home. If you are on the fence, just go! You won't regret it!

I'll never forget my time in London with Richmond
August 19, 2026by: Ashley Hummel - United StatesProgram: Study Abroad in London for a Semester, Year or Summer
My time at Richmond has been the best 3 weeks of my life. I've never felt freer and happier. I have made so many friends along the way that I will never forget, friends that I laughed with until we were all out of breath and crying. The history that London has is almost unreal, walking by churches that are older than America. Everyone was unbelievably kind, at concerts we were upgraded to front row seats, and in class we were given opportunities to see Oxford and York - both of which were some of the best moments I had with the friends I made. Our professor was always willing to answer two million questions, before Richmond I had never had fun learning. I'll never forget my time in London with Richmond and every opportunity it's given me.
The Best 4 Months of My Life
August 19, 2026by: Courtney Goldner - United StatesProgram: SAI Study Abroad at Florence University of the Arts (Italy)
I genuinely had the best study abroad experience through SAI in Florence. I was able to live with 3 of my best friends and we loved our apartment so much! Although we weren't right in the city center by thew duomo, we found that we loved being across the river as we were more immersed in the culture by being in a neighborhood filled with locals. Outside of our housing and classes, we had so many opportunities to do different activities whether it was a cooking class or a gold leafing class. I could not recommend this experience enough!

Memorable Moments with My FUBiS Classmates
August 12, 2026by: Myeong Kuk Kong - South KoreaProgram: Study Abroad in Berlin with FUBiS - Winter and Summer
I really enjoyed spending time with my classmates during the FUBiS program. Of course, taking classes together was an important part of the experience, but what I remember most are the moments we shared outside the classroom. Visiting the Olympic Park together was especially interesting because we were able to see an important part of Berlin while also spending time as a group. I also really enjoyed our trip to Potsdam. Walking around the city, seeing new places, and talking with my classmates made the trip feel very special. One of my favorite moments was going to a beer garden together after exploring Potsdam. We had time to relax, talk, laugh, and get to know each other better in a more casual atmosphere. These experiences made my time at FUBiS much more enjoyable and memorable, and I think they were a great opportunity to become closer to the people I met during the program.
I loved my time abroad!
August 12, 2026by: liv acree - United StatesGoing abroad was such an amazing experience that I definitely reccomend to everyone! This program in Chile was so immersive and very supportive throughout my time. Worldstrides planned great excursions for us that made it very fun with always something to look forward to!

August 10, 2026by: Doreen Li - ChinaProgram: Study Abroad in Berlin with FUBiS - Winter and Summer

It was a great experience
August 06, 2026by: Otta Perez del Pulgar Guerrero - SpainStudying at the University of Sussex as a Spanish exchange student has been one of the best experiences of my life. I felt welcomed from the very beginning, and the lecturers were always supportive and approachable. The campus is beautiful, the facilities are excellent, and Brighton is an amazing city full of culture and opportunities. I also met incredible people from all over the world, which helped me grow both personally and academically. This exchange has improved my English, broadened my perspective, and given me unforgettable memories. I would highly recommend the University of Sussex to any international student looking for a high-quality education and a truly enriching experience.

Ups and downs
August 06, 2026by: Natale Ireland - United StatesProgram: Study Abroad in Berlin with FUBiS - Winter and Summer
When I first arrived alot had happened that caused me to be stressed and regret ever going abroad, but the Fubis staff was there to help me refind my footing, with quick responses to pressing questions, fun experiences that allowed me to temporarily forget my worries, a counselor to help me work through my problems and find solutions to balance my mental health. The dorms also had a great vibe, full of friendly people that built a great community I don’t think I could have survived without.
I had a great time!
August 05, 2026by: Avery Meyer - United StatesProgram: ALBA Study Abroad Barcelona. A Unique, Small-Group Program
I had such a great time, the program leaders were super helpful with living situations adjusting to the different aspects here and all my professors were awesome. They all cared a lot about the courses and wanted me to succeed and do better! They excursions that they provide are also super fun and you should go on as many as possible.

Sussex is the best because of Brighton
August 05, 2026by: Caitlin G - AustraliaI did a year abroad from Australia at Sussex and it was genuinely an amazing year. Sussex is so progressive and community based, that there’s no ‘upper echelon’ groups or unapproachable people. Everyone at the uni is easy to talk to and friendly. Making friends was so easy. I joined the Salsa society; one out of literally a million choices of societies. Also, I’d argue that Sussex is as good as it is because you get to be abroad in Brighton. There’s no other city like it, so full of love and quirk. There’s ALWAYS something going on too, be it live music or festivals or arts or community activities. So bloody good and I’d go again in a heartbeat. Everybody really is in the same boat in Brighton and at Sussex, you’ll never feel judged.
