Summer Study Abroad Programs in Croatia

I had the opportunity to study abroad in Dubrovnik, Croatia! I was a very shy quiet kept to myself kind of person before going to Croatia. Once I lived and studied in Croatia my personality opened up! I learned so much about the Croatian culture and made so many friends being abroad. I got to travel to many different countries and learn new things there as well. I was lucky enough to get to live in the prettiest place in the world. I got to try new foods as well and dive into the culture experience in Dubrovnik fully and not have it "americanized."

I had the pleasure to travel to Sibenik, Croatia Summer of 2022. I came across this program through a school program at UT Austin and my application process was a bit different than most people who go on this experience. I do believe it was an easier application process but the experience I think was the equivalent to any other program. Our site manager, Ena, was so thoughtful and attentive to our needs. Although a bit chaotic, the hospital was open to teaching us about their day-to-day lives. On top of the great shadowing experience, we also got to wander the small town of Sibenik and interact with the sweet locals. Our weekend excursions planned by Ena were something to look forward to because it was a day filled with fun activities and yummy food. Overall, all my interactions with the Atlantis program have been positive and I am thankful I had the chance to partake in such an amazing trip.

We dont have anything similar in Australia. The course content challenges you to think. It makes you feel dumb and you learn a lot. Our tutor is great, he has so many patience and helps you with whatever you are struggling. Courses, friends, the tutor, the staff... The whole thing is a highlight! If you wanna come, just do it!

A very interesting experience, learned more than I expected and enjoy it a lot. There was a lot of attention from the teacher, we cover a lot of practical topics, we got to do and play with Tableau a lot.

I was pleased with the Cyber Security course. Professor Robert always amazed me by demonstrating the applications of cyber security which I had never explored before! The best part of the course were the company visits which bridged the gap between the practical and the theorical knowledge in real life scenarios. The Cyber Security course enhanced my knowledge to a great extent!

The content is excellent because it considers students who don’t have IT background, also students who do. We didn't learn any computer languages in depth, I think that our teacher Boris paved the way for us to actually go find and learn on our own and this is extremely helpful.

I was skeptical at first to enroll in online classes. But as soon as we started, I realized it was going to be a great journey, although a virtual one. Professor Vanja Šebek, along with the other international students, made this 3-week Digital Marketing course an unforgettable experience. I learned a lot from both the lecturers and my fellow students and gained a new perspective on digital marketing. The way all of us connected during this course is something I will look back upon with a big smile. Thank you everyone for this amazing International School experience!

I really enjoyed studying, interacting with different technologies, programming languages, attacks, the pathway to becoming IT professional in cyber security. I loved the workshops, company visits. I highly recommend it, it's a whole new different world here.

I expected practical knowledge, my idea was to learn how to contribute and do something with my own hands. The quality of teaching was spectacular. Classes are small so the professor could help us in any moment. We got to visit 2 cities, and emerge ourselves to Croatian culture.

All about combining future professions, summer and friends. Very intensive courses, really good professors with great knowledge of Digital marketing and intention to explain and overcome the problems and situations in Digital Marketing.

I am not from a technical or AI background, and I am now confident about the topic and I have learnt a lot. It gave a good understanding of various applications of AI in different fields. The professor never hesitated to clear our doubts and was always there to help where we got stuck.

Little does Boris know he has 2 little students listening in everyday! I don’t have much of a set up but I enjoy waking up with a cup of tea, cat snuggles and a great lecture with Boris and all the other students! It’s definitely been a highlight every morning!

I am very grateful that I have enrolled in the AI course. I have learned so much. Boris is an amazing teacher and I wish I am sitting in front of him personally. I am very much grateful because this course educates me and teaches me so much more about technologies I did not know yet. This course challenges me every single day and pushes my limitations which makes it very interesting.

Learning at home and learning at campus may be different but we all have the same burning passion to appease our curiosity into the fields we’re into. It is a privilege to fill my knowledge bag with the skills of AI and the beautiful culture of Croatia with the help of the vibrant lecturers and team, who are masters of their crafts. The class experiences are interactive and fun! If I were to visit Croatia, I would spend my free time discovering local cafes in the afternoon and visiting the tourist attractions. I reserve this desire to travel when it’s safe to do so. Cheers!

I interact with students from other countries and learn from teachers from a new country. I share my ideas with them and build friendship. I really like this experience, I’m in love with the passion of the Croatian professors. Thanks for all!

A friend highly reccomended it. The highlight of the program is a seamless balance of work and play. There is a lot of work and study crowded into 3 weeks but you get to have a lot of fun while doing it.

Vanja is an excellent teacher, he's very prepared and he has an excellent attitude and way of speaking, definitely, he's one of the best teachers I’d ever had! It's obvious he focuses on the students learning the core stuff beyond simply memorizing it.

In these strange times, I think it is important to constantly learn about new technologies and Algebra’s International Winter School is the right place to find guidance in the digital world. I enrolled in the Digital Marketing course and it exceeded my expectations! I learned not only about what is behind the digital advertising world, Google Ads and social media but I have also learned how to utilize critical and analytical thinking. Although we have attended virtual classes, I did not notice any differences in relation to normal class since I felt fully engaged thanks to our enthusiastic teachers! Then you can imagine attending the International School classes face to face! Hvala!!

In the course you learn all the basics you need to know about cyber security and it gives you an idea of how hackers operate and what to do to prevent their attacks. I'm finally starting to understand how hackers hack. :)

The pandemic has changed everything, and I felt bad for not being able to travel and get to know a foreign country but now I feel so happy that I had decided to take the winter course at Algebra. I enrolled in the Digital Marketing course where I had both learned a lot and had so much fun that I forgot that I was in my house for those several hours. Vanja is the greatest professor, he includes theorical and practical knowledge in his lessons and he is always available to answer any question. I am so grateful for everything that they had taught me. Thanks Algebra’s International School for so much fun and learning!
