The historic capital, Zagreb, is one of the oldest European cities. It serves as the economic, diplomatic, and cultural center of Croatia. It is a city of science and culture, with 50 museums and galleries as well as 20 theaters and music venues. Walking down the streets, you can admire the architecture of buildings that mostly dates back to the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Head to Sibenik as well, a historic town along the Adriatic Coast. Smaller than Zadar or Split, it is a gem waiting to be discovered and experienced. Explore its ancient city walls, steep and narrow cobbled streets, picturesque views, and crystal clear seas.
