Made my job as a traveling faculty member so easy!
August 22, 2026by: Samantha Corralejo - United StatesArcos helped us with our recent study abroad trip to Buenos Aires, Argentina. Everyone on the team was so kind, thorough, and great with communication. They planned learning activities that aligned incredibly well with the interests of our students, and were with us every step of the way to make sure things went smoothly. The co-directors for Buenos Aires were incredible. They showed so much care for our students and brought incredible positivity and energy every day. I highly recommend them!
Amazing Experience In Paris
January 29, 2026by: Audrey Colen - United StatesWhen I decided I wanted to go abroad, I was nervous about a lot of things. First off, I was scared that when I went abroad I would have to settle for a location I did not want to be in because I needed my credits to transfer over. Luckily AIFS had a program in a wonderful city with a bunch of classes that would transfer back to my home university super well. When I chose this program, I was overjoyed but nervous about living in a homestay. When I got there I was happily surprised to find that my host family was amazing and provided me with an experience I would not have been able to have if I had been in a dorm/apt. The people that I met in the program were some of the coolest people I have ever known and am happy to call them my friends to this day. If you are looking for a great program in Paris where you have the freedom to meet new people, travel, and find yourself in a new place, I would 100% recommend this to you!
Better travel
January 14, 2026by: Jonathan Velotto - FranceProgram: Dynamic Academic Semester: Study & Immerse in Buenos Aires

Well-organized
December 28, 2025by: Luke StaudeI absolutely recommend this program! The staff, including Raul and Beatriz, were friendly and helpful. The classes were well-organized, offering structure without being restrictive. Amalia was a wonderful homestay host—kind, easy to interact with, a great cook, and not overbearing. While navigating daily life in a Spanish-speaking country was challenging, the program instilled a greater appreciation for learning foreign languages.
If you can participate, make the effort to!!
December 19, 2025by: Kennedy Fast - United StatesThroughout my travels and study abroad experiences, I can confirm that this was truly the most eye-opening experience I have ever had. The education and research skills acquired through this program are invaluable and one of a kind. And when it came to wildlife, you will truly have some of the best sightings in your life. My group was bless enough to see leopard seals, Emperor and Adelie penguins, and even humpback whales bubble netting! Everything I learned from this trip, from travel skills to group communication to even research structure has all been applied and reapplied to my degree. If you want a once-in-a-lifetime experience with learning skills you will constantly apply, look no further than this program.

Beloved Buenos Aires
December 01, 2025by: Kiera Norman - United StatesIt was an amazing experience that I will take with me for the rest of my life and career. All of the excursions we went on were a breath of fresh air, they were perfectly timed with our school schedule. Personally, for me, I loved spending more time after our excursions to do my own exploring on my personal time. I got involved in a lot of clubs and activities and made some life long connections with locals. I joined my university's football team, and it was an honor to be part of such a loved sport in Argentina. I got to meet people from all over the world in my classes, and the conversation club I worked for the majority of my stay there. The classes I took were absolutely amazing! I decided to take a tango class last minute through the university, and it is a completely different world. I got to learn the inner working mechanisms of what it really takes to be a tanguero. I learned more history about Argentina in my literature class more than my own country's history. The stories of this beautiful country came alive, and I saw aspects of this history all over, and in the streets of Buenos Aires. In my sociolinguistics class I learned the origins of lunfardo and how differently people speak and that this phenomenon exists globally. In my Spanish class I was really able to apply myself to learning the language more than I ever knew possible. All of the professors were amazing, as well as my director Raúl. I learned so many things from all of them from silly conversations to life lessons. My host mom was fantastic and she had so many words of wisdom, and always comforted me when I was feeling down (and made amazing food!). I will never forget this amazing experience, and Buenos Aires will always have a part of my heart as I felt so alive and enthralled each day I was there. Studying here for 4 months was worth the whole process, and I would do it again in a heartbeat. I will always remember and return, my beloved Buenos Aires.
I love Buenos Aires!
August 24, 2025by: Erin Huter - United StatesI really loved living in this vibrant, lively city. I lived in really good parts of the city with plenty to do all of the time. I had many opportunities to better my Spanish, and I made some lifelong friends.
Absolutely amazing
June 21, 2025by: Lillian HookThe program was absolutely amazing My teacher and the academics were excellent; I learned a lot and feel much more confident in my Spanish. Raul was a friendly and amazing director. I highly recommend this experience. For future students, I suggest providing clearer information beforehand about how the classes are structured (e.g., verbal assessment, rotating teachers/groups).
Forever grateful
June 19, 2025by: Elizabeth ScudderArcos directors Beatriz and Raul were wonderful; Raul, especially, was patient and effective in pushing us to practice Spanish and sharing his culture. Muchy, my host mom, was an absolute delight. The experience significantly boosted my Spanish vocabulary and confidence, offering invaluable cultural immersion. Be prepared for a very busy, yet rewarding, schedule. I am forever grateful for the connections and growth gained.
Excelent program for listening comprehension
June 19, 2025by: Brian RoutsonMy Arcos directors, Beatriz and Raul, were wonderful! Raul was professional, knowledgeable, and patient, helping make the experience great. My teacher's classes were excellent for reinforcing content. Dolores, my homestay host, was lovely. I highly recommend this program for leveling up listening comprehension. Tip: learn the "vos" conjugation beforehand!
The perfect program for making lifetime memories
June 19, 2025by: Ryann RoweThe program was excellent! Directors Beatriz (kind and helpful) and Raul (PERFECT) made the trip unforgettable. The classes were great and very immersive. Host mom Muchy was fantastic in every way. This program is worth it for learning Spanish and making lifetime memories. Future students should thoroughly prepare and research money exchange.
Super cool study abroad experience
June 19, 2025by: Naomi ReesArcos provided a super cool study abroad experience. I thoroughly enjoyed the homestay and loved speaking Spanish, especially with the host mom. Exploring the city and experiencing life in a Spanish-speaking environment was invaluable and impossible to replicate in the USA.
Wonderful experience
May 27, 2025by: Julia LawrenceOur guides were excellent, excited to share their city, and adjusted the schedule for us. The classes were informative, though the language barrier occasionally made Q&A difficult. The homestay was very nice, clean, and offered great breakfast. Packing essentials (plugs, money, weather items) would be a helpful tip for future students. Despite an initial adjustment period, the experience was wonderful, especially for building new campus friendships.
Engaging program
May 27, 2025by: Professor Lynette CarlsonRaúl was fantastic! He is knowledgeable and passionate about the city, and the students loved him. The hotel was clean and nice. For future trips, traveling outside the city for interaction with rural communities would be a nice contrast to the city, and having basic Spanish skills is very helpful. The schedule was full and engaging. Overall, a great experience for learning about the culture and meeting the people.
Truly amazing
May 27, 2025by: Olivia SteeleOur experience was truly amazing! Our guide, Raúl, was outstanding, treating us like family and showing genuine pride in his city. The academic program was very effective. The accommodation (hotel) was great, with a top-tier sauna and gym staff. The only challenge was the language barrier. Benefits included learning Spanish, experiencing new culture, meeting new friends, trying new foods, and international travel.
Unforgettable trip!
May 27, 2025by: Lola BakerThis was an unforgettable trip! Our director, Raul, was wonderful—kind, positive, and truly enhanced the experience. The academic portion was engaging, especially discussions on Argentina's economy. The hotel was well-located. My advice is to esearch the culture and history beforehand, and having some Spanish is a huge benefit for market and restaurant experiences.
Invaluable cultural learning and life comparisons
May 27, 2025by: Andrea EllisThe cultural learning and life comparisons to the US were invaluable. Raul, our director, was super sweet and provided great direction. A constructive tip for future participants is to ensure you have a basic knowledge of Spanish, as communication with locals can be a challenge. Also, remember to dress appropriately for the local culture.
I learned so much about Argentina
May 27, 2025by: Emily BlackmanRaul was an amazing director, passionate about his country, flexible, and communicated well. The economics lesson was great, and I learned so much about the country. I highly recommend this program for its enriching experiences. For future students, I suggest taking a basic Spanish class beforehand.
A great cultural experience
May 27, 2025by: Kennedy ReynoldsRaul is an excellent study abroad director! The program offers a great cultural experience, and I absolutely recommend it to future students. Just be sure to bring warm clothes. While there was a slight language barrier challenge, the overall experience was worth it.
Incredibly valuable
May 27, 2025by: Anna RobersonMy Arcos director Raúl is the best! The academic lectures, tours, service projects, and activities were incredibly valuable. I learned so much about Argentina and its culture, even with the language barrier. Tip: Educate yourself on the city and culture beforehand.
