Loving the summer school! My class is very interesting and informative, the summer school staff is really helpful and kind, and there is a good balance between hard work and enjoying the city of Amsterdam! The course has a few fun excursions and opportunities to explore the city as we learn. I highly recommend the summer school to anyone studying abroad!

Amsterdam was the first option of my summer, and I made it. I can totally feel the free atmosphere of academy. I enjoy studying with my professor and classmates. I enjoy the life in the city. I will come again for sure.

With my major at my school in the U.S. it is almost impossible to study abroad, that was until I found the VU Summer School Program. With this program, I was able to take course in the Summer and not miss any mandatory fall/spring classes. The global health class offered helped open my eyes to different health care systems and health issues around the world. Not only did I learn about them, but I also learned how we can make a difference in the world. We learned skills such as professional debates, interviewing skills, and research studies. I am looking forward to sharing my knowledge that I gained at the VU Summer School back home in the states.

Amsterdam Summer School has probably the best course offered for people coming from diverse background, providing the students to do some cultural exchange. The best thing about this summer school is that almost everything is really managed and organized well. This summer school provided me with the course that none other institutions provided, so I am really grateful for that.
All in all I am filled with knowledge and joy that I got over the 2 weeks.
Knowledge and new friends

When selecting a program I originally looked at dates, but it was title of the course that I was interested in. The course Neurodegenerative diseases from clinic to bench provided me with a basic introduction to the diseases, but the focus on current research methods by the lecturers provided a high levels of relevance. During my time in Amsterdam I had the opportunity to not only study but also experience a new city. My course highlighted future focus areas, sparking my future interest and potentially changing my future career choices. The ballence between classes, the group project and free time allowed me to experience my surroundings and make plenty of new friends. I thoroughly enjoyed my time and really appreciated the lectures for sharing all their knowledge and always being willing to elaborate on any areas that students were interested in.
