Course Descriptions

City of Rome
Multi-disciplinary study of ancient Rome, exploring history, politics, art, archaeology, economy, geography, and environment to examine Roman culture and society through monuments, museums, and primary sources, learning to interpret archaeology, art, and architecture as reflections of social, political, and religious life.  Field trips to historic sites enhance the experience.

Latin
Intro to Latin language and Roman culture using modern, immersive methods. Grammar and vocabulary are taught through readings, with a focus on developing comprehension, speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills to achieve rapid language proficiency while exploring the social, religious, artistic, and political aspects of ancient Rome.
