Join our immersive three-month internship course, designed by Sue Mousley, our founder with over 30 years of experience working with non-human primates. Our sanctuary currently cares for marmosets, tamarins, squirrel monkeys, owl monkeys, ring-tailed lemurs, capuchins, and macaques.

Delve deep into the intricacies of primate behavior and captive management through a curriculum enriched with real-world expertise. With only 10 spots available per intake, experience individualized attention and practical learning opportunities that will equip you with skills valued in animal care.

International Primate Rescue accepts ex-laboratory, ex-pet, and ex-zoo primates, many arriving with behavioral issues. As an intern, you learn rehabilitation methods and aid in the primates’ recovery from negative behaviors. Gain invaluable experience as you immerse yourself in a rich environment that fosters learning and growth.

We offer three intakes yearly: January-March, May-July, and September-November.
