Wonderful Project!
June 04, 2025by: Natalie Born - GermanyProgram: Volunteer in Grenada – Elvira's Garden Community CentreI volunteered at Elvira's Garden Easter Camp and would definitely recommend it! The staff did everything they could to give the children a great 2 weeks with lots of activites like dancing, swimming, crafts and excursions. All the staff and other volunteers were very welcoming, so I felt comfortable from the start. I also appreciated that my vegetarian diet was taken into consideration and that I could always choose a vegetarian alternative. All in all, it was a great time for me and I am glad to have been part of this wonderful project which is definitely a gift for the children in Grenada.
Great people! Worthy Cause!

Incredible Project!
June 04, 2025by: Tara Hennessy - IrelandProgram: Volunteer in Grenada – Elvira's Garden Community CentreThe hosts Linda and Rae are helpful, fun, considerate and down to earth. Each day spent at Elvira's Garden was different and provided a solid insight into life in Grenada. I loved my time here and I am excited to come back again in the future. There are lots of ways to get involved outside of camp times. The facilities are excellent and I had plenty of time to explore the island. I arrived at Elvira's Garden without knowning anyone and I left with friends for life! Thanks!

What inspired you to travel abroad?
My two daughters have always shared this passion with me—one is a teacher and the other a social worker. Together, we saw the need for a community space that could provide more than just childcare. We wanted to create a safe, joyful, and enriching environment for children to grow, explore, and be heard. That's how Elvira’s Garden was born—a place named in honor of the grandmother my daughters never met, who was always giving, always growing something beautiful.

What inspired you to travel abroad?
I was drawn to this organization because of its commitment to supporting children. I’ve always had a passion for helping young people, and when I saw the impact this charity makes (particularly as it is very close to where I grew up), I knew I wanted to be a part of it. Knowing I could contribute, both administratively and directly with the kids, really inspired me to get involved.
