Do you have a passion for horses and a desire to experience a new culture? De Adelaar Landgoed in South Africa offers a unique volunteer program that allows you to do both! Nestled on a beautiful ranch, this program provides hands-on experience working with the SA Boerperd, a majestic South African horse breed.

The program runs during the breeding season, where you'll witness mares foaling while assisting the experienced staff with their care. Your days will be filled with learning about horse behavior, feeding, cleaning stables, and contributing to the overall breeding operation.

This volunteer program is perfect for anyone, regardless of prior experience. You are welcome, as long as you're fit, healthy, at least 18 years old, and comfortable communicating in English. Be prepared to get your hands dirty and embrace hard work, but also know that the rewards of working with these incredible animals are truly unforgettable.

No previous experience is required; however, you need to be fit and healthy and at least 18 years of age. You should be able to speak and understand English to get around. You must not fear getting down and dirty, and you must obviously be extremely passionate about horses. Hard work is a guarantee, but the rewarding experience you will have with us is also guaranteed!

The minimum duration is 6 months, which includes Module 1 and 2, and leads to the International Certificate in Stable and Yard Skills.
