Coral Cay Conservation (CCC) is an award-winning organization that has been contributing to coral reef conservation in developing countries for 30 years. Our mission statement is: "Providing resources to help sustain livelihoods and alleviate poverty through the protection, restoration and management of coral reefs and tropical forests." CCC works with local governments and communities by invitation only. So wherever you join us, you know the work that we are doing is supported by the local community.
Coral Cay Conservation's expedition site is based in rural Southern Leyte, Philippines. Volunteers do not need to have any science or dive training since all the necessary training is covered on-site. Our research teams of staff and international volunteers collect baseline information on the current health of the reef and forest. This information is then used to develop management plans with the local government and community to ensure that the area is used in a way that ensures sustainability and promotes conservation.
