Bushwise

I did the Bushwise course in January 2018 for six months and then a six month placement as a field guide through Bushwise. When I was there we all complained, you’re exhausted and craving normality in your life. But now that I look back at it, even a week after the course I missed it. The amount of knowledge you gain and the skills you learn in such a short period of time are incredible. I went to this course not knowing how to drive manual and knowing close to nothing about South African wildlife. With the help of four amazing trainers I came out of there being able to do a three hour game drive, no problem. My knowledge is now endless and the opportunity to keep learning is always an option in the bush. This course allows you to grow in so many ways and I wouldn’t change it for the world. The experiences I’ve had and the people I’ve met from Bushwise made it one of the best years of my life!

Going to BushWise was one of the best things I've ever decided to do. I always had a love for the bush but no idea where to start. BushWise helped me get a handle on what I've always wanted do and the staff there were incredibly supportive in helping me understand how the industry works. They are very thorough and knowledgable on all things wild and I wouldn't be where I am now without the help of the staff and all the people I studied with. I tip my hats to them and if anyone feels like jumping into the bush for the rest of their life then I definitely think BushWise is the place to be.

Bushwise was without a doubt the best experience of my life. I have learnt so much in the last 6 months and I have made friendships that will last a lifetime. I used to want to go into ecology but Bushwise has shown me my true potential and I know that guiding is what I want to do.
