Founded in 1996 in the wake of the Oslo agreements, the Arava Institute for Environmental Studies is a leading environmental studies and research program in the Middle East. We run academic programs in partnership with Ben Gurion University, research centers, and international cooperation initiatives focusing on a variety of environmental concerns and challenges. With a student body comprising Jordanians, Israelis, Palestinians, and other students from around the world, we offer students the opportunity to learn from leading professionals while forging friendships and developing skills that enable them to lead the region and the world in solving today's most urgent environmental issues. We aim to advance cross-border environmental cooperation to ensure that shared environmental resources of the region will be protected and will no longer be a source of conflict.
