Excellent month in South Africa
April 22, 2019by: Charli May - United KingdomI had the best month of my life on the wildlife filmmaking course with Africa Media. We had access to great equipment and were taught how to use it. The 9 days spent on safari at Scotia were incredible. Some improvements could be made to WiFi/ housing facilities but we were able to go on some great activities in the local area!
You'll be glad to hear that our wifi has been changed and updated and all is working perfectly and as fast as one can get in Africa! We also have a new intern home which everyone is in love with.
It was a great experience!

Truly inspiring
April 23, 2019by: Jessica Furlong - United StatesIn the month I spent as an Africa Media intern, I met and stayed with some of the most amazing people I've ever met. The staff is not only knowledgeable about their craft, they're passionate. They truly care about each and every one of their interns. Their attitudes toward their job and toward their life were absolutely inspiring and I think anyone would be lucky to spend time with them.

What inspired you to travel abroad?
I’ve always been passionate about nature and travel. As a journalist, I continuously look for ways to incorporate these interests into my career. Africa Media granted me the opportunity to do exactly that and more. It’s a media company focused on telling the story of wild Africa, educating others on how to build a career in the field of wildlife media and conservation. I wanted to become part of that journey. The members of the Africa Media team are more like family than colleagues, and they’re all driven by the same love for Africa and its wildlife.

I love wildlife documentaries and particularly David Attenborough programs. My dream is to become a documentary filmmaker and work for the BBC. I found the Africa Media program online, and it was the the best, as I wanted to film cool wildlife like lions and elephants, rather than foxes and badgers. That the program was based in South Africa, worked on free range wildlife reserves, and the past films from their students showed me this was a real professional program where I could learn more about becoming a wildlife filmmaker.
