the school was excellent. My Maestra, Aura, was terrific; everybody on the staff was muy simpatico; the facilities were great. I got good education, without it being rigid in structure. I highly recommend Maximo Nivel in La Antigua, and if I were ever to return to Guatemala, Maximo Nivel is where I would go ( and I went to 4 different schools in Guatemala -- 3 in Antigua ). sincerely, Jeremy Pick

Hello! My name is John and I am a graduate of Maximo-Nivel's TEFL-TESOL certification program. I attended the Maximo-Nivel Language Institute in Cusco, Peru in August of 2009. Before choosing Maximo-Nivel, I researched many other TEFL schools and did my homework then made my decision to attend Maximo-Nivel. I interviewed with Ken Jones (Owner) before going there and found him to be very honest and willing to answer my every question then I made my decision to attend Maximo-Nivel. Maximo-Nivel provided for me to stay in their "Family House" while I was studying there. It was a wonderful experience living there. First class accomodations that included: all meals, private room, laundry, living room, cable and internet. While living there I made many friends that I keep in touch with until this very day. The TEFL program was intensive and well run. It was taught by Sabrina and Natalie. After receiving my TEFL cert. i also took Maximo's Business TEFL and International Exam Prep. cert. courses. Taught by Tom Kearin and Ken Jones. Ken went the extra mile to schedule the International English Exam Prep. course for five of us students. He cancelled personal business and even rearranged his family life to accomodate us. After graduating from Maximo, Maximo was very helpful in helping me with job placement. I received reference letters and professional advice. I was immediately hired hto teach in S. Korea. Ken and Tom have always been quick to provide me with reference letters and professional advice. I highly recommend Maximo-Nivel to anyone who is interested in TEFL/TESOL certification and pursuing a TEFL/TESOL teaching career.

Maximo Nivel was a wonderful experience! The teachers and staff are professional and really helpful. I would definitely recommend this program to anyone looking to study Spanish. I can't imagine having studied anywhere else!

I've studied at Maximo for over a year and a half now. The teachers are top-notch and a lot of fun. As I am going to live here long term, we needed a program that was flexible enough for someone who would be working full time and a program that would move us to fluency as quickly as possible. Maximo has provided all of that and more as we have needed special help depending on our work circumstances. I would highly recommend Maximo to any one who wants to learn Spanish. An added bonus is that the location is perfect. Having experience with the local landscape and having heard about the other schools, I can't imagine using another school in Cusco.

I reported to my, Teaching English as a Foreign Language class on June 22nd, 2011. My previous job involved educating Orthopedic and General Surgeons on the techniques used with certain medical tools to achieve minimally invasive surgery. I did so both before and during surgery, which exposed me to a more diverse range of teaching environments. Although teaching was something that was not foreign to me, I walked into class with no understanding of how to teach English, let alone to a non-native speaker. Iani and Phil were my instructors at Maximo Nivel San Pedro, Costa Rica for the TELF course. On my first day in mini-teaching lessons, I was immediately assured that my experience was going to be worthwhile. The instructors had a combined TEFL teaching experience of over 8 years. Their experience was apparent in each class, as they were both able to disseminate information amongst a myriad of people with different learning abilities. Beyond our instructors, Iani and Phil were advisors to the class and offered much advice and guidance, which I am extremely grateful for. In all, it was a noteworthy experience, and I Thoroughly Enjoyed Myself! ***I highly recommend continuing Spanish classes after your TEFL certification.
