Government Internships in Argentina

Gain valuable experience in the inner workings of politics in Argentina. This organization strengthens the legislative branch of Argentine politics and consolidates democracy through dialogue, transparency and providing information to the public. One of the major projects involves producing an annual almanac listing every single senator and representative, their voting records, and the source of funds, campaign, and special interest donations they received over the course of that year. We work closely with you to arrange a customized internship that matches your particular interests and goals, and that provides valuable professional experience relevant for your future career. Visitors consider it the most European city in South America, but Buenos Aires dances with Latin flair. Artists cover drab walls with splashes of bright pastels, particularly prominent in the La Boca neighborhood. Fill your days by attending antique markets, sampling street food, listening to street musicians, or touring the famous modern art museums. No matter your interests, there’s never a dull moment in Buenos Aires!

Politics and Government (Legal/Political) Internship

Institute for Global Studies offers internship placements, which involve the following tracks, in the field of Politics and Government in several destinations worldwide: Track One: Work for a political advocacy group. Lobbyists come in all shapes and sizes. We aim to match students with organizations they support. Lobbyists imbed themselves in the halls of power and use their connections to enact change or maintain the status quo. Advocates master the art of “getting the word out” and understand how political spin can shape issues. Track Two: Cover politics for a community newspaper. City Pages newspapers lean left and provide coverage and commentary on a host of issues that affect their community. Past IGS students have been assigned field topics on divisive political issues and have had their work published. Whether you are interviewing a local politician or covering a protest, you have a chance to be in the heart of it all. Track Three: Promote a political candidate. Join the campaign trail and lend your support to a candidate. IGS students have assisted candidates both in the United States and abroad in their quest for leadership.

API: Experience Buenos Aires, Argentina (with Scholarships)

Buenos Aires is the capital of Argentina and is located on the shore of the Río de la Plata. It is one of Latin America's most important ports and populous cities. This grand city with wide avenues and a vibrant cosmopolitan flair is seen as more European than Latin American. Its energy and bustle are most evident in the city's center, an epicenter of entertainment, shopping, and café culture. It is built on the original colonial foundations of the Spanish people. This center serves as the location for many and most financial institutions and corporate headquarters. New for Spring 2024: Come study in Argentina's vibrant and exciting capital city, Buenos Aires! Students will enroll in coursework at Universidad de Belgrano, with a concentration on Spanish language and Latin American studies. This program is especially good for Spanish minors and majors, as most courses offered are the building blocks of those degrees. Enjoy excursions to Tigre, La Plata, and Estancia!

This was the best experience of my life. I had the opportunity to immerse myself in Argentine culture, meet many new people, eat amazing food, and learn so much at my internship working with promoting diversity and inclusion. Since day one, our coordinator, Brenda, was super communicative and very helpful throughout the whole trip. This was such a unique experience, and I will carry it with me forever!
