Tailor-made Internship in Buenos Aires

It was an amazing experience where I met many people from a variety of different cultures and outlooks on life, making lifelong friends in the process. I developed both professionally and personally through the placement at a camp teaching english, coordinated by Road2Argentina for pre placement advice and contacts. I also experienced the argentine culture through the variety of different free activities provided by David and Mateo at Road2Argentina. (my favourites were La Bomba del Tiempo and Fuerza Bruta, as well as seeing the exhibition of Campeon del Mundo- unforgettable)

I recently went to Buenos Aires through the Road Programme and loved every moment of it! Mateo and David were extremely kind and help me to get settled in Buenos Aires. It was a daunting experience at first, but with their help and the fun socials that they organised I was able to make the most out of my time there! They helped me with the commute from my flat to work, SIM card, transaction advice and much more. They also provided me with some great advice on travelling to Iguazu; including the best airlines to use, places to stay, etc. I would certainly recommend others to use Road2Argentina as their personal touch provides a far more valuable experience and they were always there for me when I needed it!

I did a three month internship in Buenos Aires through Road2Argentina and this was an experience I will never forget. I arranged it through Road2Argentina and the process went really smooth and easy. First we talked through Skype and we tried to find a suitable internship. I ended up at an amazing lovely marketing company operating in a beautiful part of Buenos Aires (Palermo Soho). This company was a young hip and modern company in an amazing neighbourhood. Next to this, Mateo and David (the owners of Road2Argentina) Arranged every week at least 2 really nice local events for me and other interns. Events to get to know the city, the culture, the country. Every week we could let them know if we would be able and willing to participate. Through this I’ve met other interns and even friends and family from Mateo and David. This was really nice to get to know the city better and an addition to my experience. They also provided a lot of information regarding safety, money, where to go, where to live and what to do or not. During my time, I could reach them always when I needed to. Either serious cases or non serious. I am really happy they helped me with creating this amazing opportunity and memory for me. Also Argentina is an amazing country to travel through. Buenos Aires is a beautiful city with amazing parties and culture. In Argentina you can travel to Salta and Patagonia, which is unbelievable beautiful. When choosing Road2Argentina, you will have a good time, for sure! Thanks again Mateo and David, nos vemos en futuro ❤️

My 12-week internship in Buenos Aires was awesome. This experience changes my personal and professional life. There is so much good about Buenos Aires. Tango, football, food, street art, European style architecture, culture, museums, history... are amazing! About the job, I was in a good company. I got to meet funny and open-minded people who are passionate about their job. I have learned so much with those people related to my field of study. I worked on nice and interesting projects. About the program, Each time I needed help, the coordinators were able to help me. They always had nice activities to relax and have fun in my free times. I definitely recommend this program to anyone who wants to experience a job abroad and enhance his resume while having fun and learning about all the amazing stuff this city has.

I had a great time in Buenos Aires interning with the law firm! It was a great opportunity to work right under the CEO and the other co-workers. I got the chance to look over a variety of legal documents and familiarize myself with the legal jargon. And I also got to practice my networking skills along with my presentation and team working skills. Apart from the internship, I also had an amazing time living in Buenos Aires with the host, meeting people and exploring the city with them, and taking independent trips back outside of Buenos Aires like in Patagonia, Mendoza, and Iguazu Falls. I honestly had the best time on these trips. I definitely came back with a lot of great memories.

My internship in Buenos Aires was one of the best abroad trips I have ever taken. I had no type of feeling of it at the beginning other than a slight nervousness. I was kind of iffy on the placement but as it continued it grew on me and it helped me decide what I want to do in the future. Although, I still am unsure what I want to do as a career choice this internship allowed me to explore options that I can do once I graduate. I was once interested in going into law but my placement, which was at a technology law firm, has ensured me that I will not be going into law any time soon. Outside of my internship, my adventures were quite appealing. Each trip has its own place in my head as they were each unique. I cannot wait to come back to explore more of Buenos Aires and to enhance my Spanish speaking skills.

An internship through Road 2 Argentina is the perfect experience because it provides a student with valuable work experience, as well as the most fun time of their life. I would recommend this program to anyone. Buenos Aires is a very dynamic city and Argentina is a gorgeous country, as a whole. The program provided me with activities, friends, and insights, which gave me the confidence to explore different parts and do different things. I'll never forget the memories I made and the people I met in Buenos Aires. Those 16 weeks were the best thing that could've happened to me.

My internship experience started off far from ideal with a lot of tension and a terrible environment in the workplace. The program director was able to solve this problem quickly upon request and find a new placement for me. Because there are not many program attendees at a time, It seemed as though many group activities were planned on the spur of the moment; however, most of them were very entertaining.

I spent 3 months from March - June with Road2Argentina, working in AMUMRA (Asociacion de Mujeres Unidas, Migrantes y Refugiadas de Argentina) and living in Palermo. It was the most testing, fulfilling and beautiful 3 months of my life; going abroad to somewhere in South America is difficult - things don't work the same out there at all and you really are in control of how your experience works for you, meaning you have to be a lot more courageous and independent than you would need to be in the UK or the US. The programme convenors, Mateo and David, grew to be amazing friends of mine, I miss them, love them and I'm counting down the days until I can return to Argentina after my degree because for me, 3 months was not enough at all. My work was not for the faint hearted, as I mentioned previously, the way of life is different in Argentina and it is normal to have a work schedule that changes or not have facilities up to the normal standard, however the women I met and worked with were the funniest and bravest group of women I have ever met and spending time with them, learning about South America, was so amazing and a dream come true. If you are someone who is not afraid of leaving their comfort zone, wants to learn about other cultures, loves amazing steak, wine, travelling, scenery and beautiful people, then Argentina is the place for you and it is one of those places that never leaves your heart.

My experience in Buenos Aires was amazing- I enjoyed the work I was doing at my internship and had plenty of time to explore the city and other places in South America. It was intimidating at first to be in a new culture and speak my non-native language; however, I would never grow as much as I did if it weren't for this challenging experience. I loved spending time with my host family and sitting down together to enjoy traditional meals from Argentina. I lived in the beautiful neighborhood of Palermo, which was always lively and conveniently located near restaurants, bars, cafes and the subway station! The program made me feel welcome and our weekly group events allowed me to get to know all the other students better and experience more of the rich culture Argentina has to offer. Road2Argentina did a great job of matching me with my internship and was always flexible and willing to help. I recommend this program to anyone looking to travel, boost their sense of independence, and gain valuable work experience while improving their Spanish skills. Buenos Aires has so much to offer and I can't wait to travel back someday!

I truly loved the work I was doing at my internship site and the work environment. There was lots to do in the office as well as out in the community. Keeping an open mind is what led me to have such an awesome experience. I learned so much from the women in the office not only about the projects conducted within the organization but as well their personal lives. The office atmosphere was a mini community, a sisterhood of sorts that made me feel welcomed since the first day. I was already nervous about traveling on my own and about working in an even more unknown environment. My coworkers helped guide me to their cultural customs both informally and formally. Overall, everyone I met during my time in Buenos Aires was welcoming, friendly and accommodating.

My experience with Road2Argentina was great! My work placement was amazing, had a lot of great time with coworkers and learned a lot. Their weekly events gave me an opportunity to meet a lot of people and learn others cultures as well. Had a lot of fun enjoying BsAs night life and traveling around Argentina! Our coordinator gave us a lot of traveling options as well!

My 9 weeks in Argentina over the summer were ones I will never forget. Will and Simon made the entire process of applying and finding a suitable company extremely easy. They hear out your requests and do a great job of placing you in safe, fun neighborhoods. I lived in a shared apartment with various other travelers and a laidback mother and daughter. Great environment for learning Spanish but feeling like I had space as well. Buenos Aires is an unforgettable city with a number of excursions only a bus ride or cheap plane ticket away. Do this program if you're even considering it.

I spent 3mo in the Road2Argentina program and it was simply incredible!! Will and Simon work tirelessly to make sure that your experience is exactly what you want it to be! I did 6 weeks interning with a healthcare based NGO before shifting gears to do a 6 weeks shadowing in a hospital (with a few weeks of travel in-between ;) ) and both experiences were amazing and highly useful to my future professional goals. The coordinators are there to make sure that you have one of the best experiences of your life! When you get there you instantly are connected with other Roadies and have a squad to roll around Buenos Aires: there was never any shortage of group events! The only reason I can't give it 10/10 in every aspect is simply the price: as a broke post-grad, it was definitely an expensive gap year experience. Although understandably, it is quite difficult to find short term housing at an affordable price, so i'm not sure I could have done any better on my own. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ That being said, outside of housings costs, everything about the program exceeded my expectations and [in the larger scheme of undergrad and medical school debt] it was well worth the cost!! 9.8/10

Traveling to Argentina through Road 2 Argentina was one of the best decisions I have ever made. The R2A coordinators answered all of my questions before I even arrived and made me feel secure in choosing R2A. My internships at the hospital and with FIC were amazing. At the hospital I met so many doctors that gave me great advice on choosing a career and about life in general. They made me feel welcomed and weren't bothered at all by the numerous questions I asked. At FIC I did research that genuinely interested me. My internships were fun and I learned a lot about medicine and public health. The coordinators made me feel welcomed and planned fun events that helped me explore Buenos Aires a bit more. I had such an amazing time in Buenos Aires and totally recommend it to others!

Road2Argentina has a lot of benefits, and most of them revolve around the helpfulness of the staff, Will and Simon. The program does indeed act on all it says it offers - my housing situation was comfortable and reasonably priced considering the relative prices of the Palermo neighbourhood I was staying in. The staff will provide all the support necessary, as promised, and the internship choices are relatively plentiful. The experience you will have in the internship of course depends on the internship placement, but don't necessarily expect an extremely challenging experience; in my case, my internship wasn't particularly challenging, but from other participants in the program I heard varying perspectives. Overall, I would highly recommend the program; it was well worth the money to create a comfortable experience in a completely new and different environment. Thanks Will and Simon!

This summer I participated in the Road2Argentina program in Buenos Aires, and absolutely loved it! This was my first time travelling for an extended period anywhere, especially a country that does not speak English. The program is most useful at the beginning of your trip for accommodating your arrival and your housing etc. Throughout my time here there were several nights of activities offered. Program coordinators are also a super nice and assuring part of the program, because you never know what problems might come up. I personally had issues with my debit card being stolen, and both coordinators were willing to help me. I lived in a home-stay with an older family and thought it was great. The drawbacks and advantages were basically the same as living at home with parents in terms of personal freedom. The location of my apartment was by far the best [art of the trip. I was in the "Palermo" neighborhood which included: a subway stop within 100 feet, a mall within 100 feet, bars, restaurants, parks, and all of that combined with Palermo being a very safe place to stay. I interned with an NGO based on public health research and lobbying. I felt that being a volunteer intern made me less of a priority there, and it took several weeks for me to receive my project for the summer. The work itself was interesting, but it was all work from home. The internship was the only part of the experience I was disappointed in. The night life is super awesome and cheap in the city. I would go out every weekend with friends and had no problems. The culture of the city was really captured for me in all of the little bars I went to. Overall, the experience was great and I would recommend the program to anyone interested!

Road2Argentina is a great way to immerse yourself into a beautiful country and culture. The program makes sure you are comfortable in your homestay and in your internship, and creates events for you to get to know the Roadie cohort and the program coordinators. It is also very affordable considering the best neighbourhoods in Buenos Aires are quite expensive.

Hey there, I want my review to be different. It will be for someone who is similar to me….that might find it helpful. Little bit about myself: 26yo female I paid it all by myself, I didn’t get financial aid or anything like that, neither my parents were supporting me at any point of this internship Lived by myself before coming to AR What you get with R2A: -Accommodation: I paid more to have my internship with a home stay, so breakfast and dinner was included. -HOMESTAY in my case was amazing, I really loved my host and the dinners were amazing. BUT if you lived on your own before it will be quite of a switch having to accommodate to certain ‘’dining hours and quiet hours’’ etc. Obviously, no guests are allowed etc. HOWEVER, if you pick the option without homestay/ meals you'll live with someone anyways. It will not be an EMPTY apartment JUST FOR YOU. But concluding, I enjoyed living my with host, meals were great, I tried local cuisine, got to speak Spanish, had lot of support etc. But every family/host is different, so if you are super picky about EVERYTHING think twice ;) -One week at Expanish, Spanish classes that fit to your level- honestly the school was amazing and I wish it was more than just a week (if you want to extend the cost per week is around 200 USD) -You’ll be in touch with 2 coordinators, very chill and nice.They will organize meetings for the group and will answer all your questions etc -Generally, it says it is 24/7 SUPPORT but it is not like someone is awake at night waiting for your call or don't confuse it with an EMERGENCY LINE, you might get lucky tho. So depending on what the issue most likely it will be done during the day. I never had an emergency, but also I am very self sufficient and most of the issue I handle by myself. -Weekly activities: yes, there will be activities done together. Twice a week at least I think. Nothing super expensive tho, and it will be done very locally. Don’t expect go to Iguazu or Mendoza with Road2Argentina. Activities will include: Mate y medialunas / sharing mate and eating croissants/, Tango lessons/worth going/, museum trips, asado/bbq, and others. Basically nothing too expensive, no more than 200 pesos. I didn’t go to many of them because I was traveling or I was not into it, but for the ones I went I really liked. -Transfer from the airport which is probably around 600- 800 pesos one way depending on traffic. The trip back to the airport is on your own. -You’ll get CLARO card for your phone and SUBTE metro card but it will be empty, you’ll have to load it yourself -Internship placement; that obviously depends on what your field is / how you will be satisfied with the internship outcome etc./ I study IT, after all I liked my placement, the people were extremely nice and patient. Concluding, it is indeed a great experience to come to BUENOS AIRES! Truly an eye opening and I can say that I am a different person now. HOWEVER, from the realistic point of view, if you’re thinking of putting this program into your student loan (in my university it was really expensive), OR you are planning to spend your last penny for this program DON’T. It is really not worth the price if you do the math. You can get similar experience for the half of the price by just coming here and getting an airbnb, because the flight isn’t included anyways. BUT, if the money isn’t a big deal for you, or/and you can get a financial aid etc go ahead and experience it yourself! :) How can this program be improved? I wish more details was given before I made the payments. Also, more trips were organized for example on Fridays considering that during summer(winter) in Argetina days are shorter and the activities are limited.
