Best Volunteer Programs in Tanzania

Tanzania is a prime example of what most people expect when they think about Africa. The endless wilderness of the national parks with a vast variety of wild animals in their natural surroundings, the exotic and colorful Maasai culture and mountaintops from where you feel like you could see the edges of the world. And although all these romantic ideas of endless landscapes and wild animals are true, there is so much more to discover when you volunteer in Tanzania. There are plenty advantages of being a volunteer in Tanzania in comparison to just traveling the country as a tourist. There is no better way to really get to know the culture and the people of a country than to become a part of the society by offering a helping hand. Benefit from exceptional encounters with new people and take a chance to explore Tanzania with the eyes of an insider.

Makimbilio Child Care and Teaching Volunteers

This volunteer program by KVT places you in Tanzania, where you will work in an orphanage and assist in the care of kids and teens. They have lost their parents due to various reasons, including accidents and deadly diseases (i.e., HIV/AIDS). The orphanage is located within a local community, and you will help with daily activities as well as educate widows, youth, and people living with HIV/AIDS. You will contribute to our efforts in educating locals on how to take care of themselves. Together with other volunteers, you will also visit homes and teach households – especially those dealing with HIV/AIDS – about health issues. If you are caring, motivated, and open-minded, you will fit into our team perfectly.

Was the best time and experience of life time

We had an absolutely remarkable time with kilimanjaro volunteers Tanzania. We were looking for volunteering opportunity and came across kilimanjaro search. The volunteers coordinator Elibriki Amoni, was invariably thoughtful and responsive in our correspondence, listening to what we were looking for and matching us with a perfect situation. Our family of 8 (four kids, ages 7-15) would be teaching in a school and an after-school program, and I was worried that it would either be too much (i.e., "Here's your class for the week, best of luck!") or too little kids where fun and was great moment.
