Social Work Experience in Zanzibar
Program Overview
Volunteer in our Social Work Experience project in Zanzibar and assist individuals with disabilities, HIV/AIDS, or addictions. For 3 weeks or longer (subject to visa requirements), gain practical experience and development opportunities in social work. Before the program starts, undergo training, local mentorship, and support to prepare you for effective intervention, advocacy, awareness, and guidance when working with individuals and communities facing diverse challenges.
Choose from three categories: children and teens with disabilities, HIV/AIDS, and addiction—all carrying huge stigma in Zanzibar. As a volunteer, you help break down these barriers, give much-needed attention, and support locals trying to improve the lives of communities affected.
The Social Work Experience project is perfect for those studying, qualified, or experienced in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Physiotherapy, Special Education, Occupational Therapy, or a related field or for those able to teach sign language.
