Find out why more and more people are choosing to become a Love Volunteer! Love Volunteers is the most affordable way to volunteer and help local communities in developing countries! Why are we cheaper than other organisations? Firstly, we are just a handful of passionate people working hard to help volunteers and local communities around the world. We don't have huge overheads - no company cars, no downtown office - we're just volunteers who knew we could do a better job. Secondly, we work with local organisations wherever we can to keep administration costs to a minimum and also to feed as much money and skills into the local communities where we operate. All of Love Volunteers partner organisations have been fully vetted to ensure that, not only does a genuine need for assistance exist, but that the environments that we place our volunteers are safe and of high quality. Choose from one or more of our 200+ amazing community-based programs in 37 developing countries around the world. Every program has been personally visited by one of our dedicated staff members and is regularly audited to ensure it meets our high standards in terms of safety, sustainability, and local impact.

Apart from the normal struggles of living with a disability, social stigma and discrimination surrounding disabilities mean that People With Disabilities (PWD) face even greater challenges. In many instances, PWDs are not afforded the same opportunities as regular members of society, and this, in turn, means they are often unable to contribute productively to their communities. Your role will be based in a local care centre, which provides social activities, food, assistance with day-to-day life, and vocational training. You will work alongside centre staff, assisting them and taking on responsibilities as your skills and experience allow. As a volunteer, you will help with daily activities that involve: Social interaction Income generation through the creation and sale of arts and crafts Vocation and skills-based training Kitchen work and gardening to provide nutritious meals This project is located in Hout Bay, a bus ride away from central Cape Town with all the city has to offer tourists. Accommodation is at a lodge located right by the beach and with a bus stop just outside. Project work is from Monday to Friday, with the weekends free to explore and have fun.

We offer a wide range of volunteer projects in Cape Town - one of the top 10 cities to visit in the world including unique beauty and warm-hearted people. Our many social projects in Cape Town operate in different areas of great need. Children, women, homeless and elderly people are our main focus as these are the most vulnerable ones in society. Abuse and neglect are huge issues in South Africa but we also dedicate ourselves to a better education, special needs and community development including all type of sports. However, one thing is the same for every person we serve: they need love, patience, a lot of smiles, time, dedication and attention. As a Good Hope volunteer, you may take part in all activities and excursions organised by our language school involving evening activities each week and full-day tours, excursion or overnight safaris etc. on weekends. Activities can include hiking up Table Mountain, visiting the Cape of Good Hope, touring museums full of the country's rich history and culture or simply enjoying the city's world-famous nightlife. You won't just make an impact while volunteering in Cape Town, you will leave renewed yourself!

Cape Town is the perfect place to set up a base for your volunteering adventure in South Africa. The city is known to be one of the most beautiful ones in the world; the challenges the communities in and outside of Cape Town face, are huge. Those who are less fortunate, namely women, children, the elderly and homeless people, are the ones who are in great need. We dedicate ourselves to better their lives through help, love and skills they would otherwise not receive. Some of the projects involve sports such as rugby and surfing, others horse therapy for disabled children and others again involve volunteers in community projects and youth development. Helping at local schools or kindergartens is also popular. There is a lot of valuable projects to choose from. We help you find the right one. Volunteers in Cape Town and Hout Bay will be able to participate in the exciting social programme offered through our language school. Spend your weekends hiking Table Mountain, shark diving, or enjoying the world famous night life in the city. The city is a melting pot for young people from all over the world, and you are bound to find yourself in the company of life long friends.
