Multiple Year Volunteer Programs in Costa Rica

Lettre de motivation – Candidature pour une mission de volontariat Madame, Monsieur, Je souhaite vous présenter ma candidature pour participer à votre programme de volontariat. Motivé, sérieux et ouvert d’esprit, je souhaite vivre une expérience internationale qui me permettra de développer mes compétences, de découvrir une nouvelle culture et surtout de contribuer activement aux activités de votre organisation. Je suis une personne dynamique, responsable et capable de m’adapter facilement à de nouveaux environnements. J’apprécie particulièrement le travail en équipe, la communication avec les autres et l’apprentissage de nouvelles compétences. Je suis également prêt à participer aux différentes tâches proposées et à m’investir pleinement dans la vie quotidienne du projet. Pour moi, le volontariat représente bien plus qu’un simple voyage. C’est une occasion de rencontrer des personnes venant de différents horizons, de partager nos expériences et de contribuer positivement à la communauté d’accueil. Je suis prêt à sortir de ma zone de confort, à apprendre et à donner le meilleur de moi-même. Je serais très heureux d’avoir la possibilité de rejoindre votre projet et de mettre ma motivation, mon énergie et mon sérieux au service de votre équipe. Honestly, I went into this with no expectations and then was really surprised with the beauty of peru. We got to see evey hike that we wanted to see, and they were all so beautiful! I also got a great room allocation with a lot of friends and made new ones as well! My first time in South America was such a different experience toi what I had known before and I was happy to contribute, if only for such a short time to this project.

This experience was my first time in South America and I couldn´t have wished for a more satisfying visit. Maximo was very helpfull in any inquiries I had and provided a tremendous amount of aid with city life, exploration, and my construction project. Finally, my host family was great and made me feel comfortable and welcomed me to the new country.

best time ever, everything was great. saw amazing things, and was able to do amazing things. The host house was amazing with really cool people. We were able to do our own thing and that made my trip just amazing. Maximo was just great.

I loved working with the locals in Cusco. I was able to learn a lot about both healthcare here, and overall medical information I didn't know before. My Spanish skills also imporved from beginner to not so beginner, so that's also a plus! The Maximo Nivel staff were super helpful from orientation, to helping me with my own health issues, to departure. I would truly recommend this program to anyone looking to become a global citizen, and partcipate in a program to their specialty. While I'm sad to leave, I will cherish these memroeis forever and am excited to take what I learned and apply it at home!

I stayed in Manuel Antonio with the Maximo team and had a wonderful time! It was a little stressful at first with the minimal information offered, but once I arrived in Quepos, Costa Rica, I felt entirely cared for and supported. Wonderful team and a wonderful program! (Shout out to Karen, the best manager out there and practically a second host mom to me and my best friend ❤️❤️❤️)

Volunteering at the Ofelia Carvajal was an eye opening experience! I established a great connection with the seniors there and enjoyed the care provided for them. I’d like to thank the staff for guiding us in these 2 weeks!

Maximo staff was 10/10. They are great, very organized, and lovely to work with. They truly found the communities that needed help the most and were so positive and encouraging throughout the entire process. I learned so much and am so grateful!

Margot was great! We really loved her! She was very sweet! She explained our days and pickups really well. And she also explained Costa Rica's culture. Only feedback would be better communication about our itinerary through email, since we all got it very late. And maybe if the itinerary was a bit more detailed. Like telling us if we're able to swim or not. Since for one of the waterfalls we couldn't swim. And also if hotels could've been mentioned. Or the cost of things around since the hotels we are in are touristy

Getting to be so hands on with the animals as I switched to the veterinary program at the beginning. Being a vet was always a dream of mine, so to be able to help the animals in that way was amazing. Working with so many baby sloths in particular will always be a special memory as those animals are so amazing.

Superbe expérience au Slot Rescue Center au Costa Rica. J’étais dans l’équipe des vétérinaires en autre , et j’ai participé à soigner, nourrir, nettoyer, des paresseux, des perroquets, ratons laveurs, petit singe hurleur… et autres. <br>Nous sommes hébergés en général dans des chambres de 4 avec des lits superposés. <br>Il y a des règles à observer puisque nous débutons en général assez tôt le matin quoique tout le monde n’a pas le même horaire. <br>Nous avons 3 repas par jour à des heures précises . Il ne faut pas s’attendre à manger comme dans un hôtel tout inclus, mais nous mangeons bien , à notre faim et diversifier. <br>Si vous voulez manger différemment, il y a à quelques minutes de marche une épicerie à grande surface. <br>Tout le monde est très gentil, l’entraide et le respect sont très important. <br>Apporter de bonnes chaussures de marche ou bottines, et vous serez très à l’aise comme ça. <br>Le centre offre aussi des excursions payantes une fois dans la semaine. <br>Pour les périodes de repos, il y’a une grande piscine très propre. <br>Les chambres sont nettoyées et la literie est lavé une fois semaine. <br>J’ai trouvé l’endroit très propre et les animaux sont vraiment respectés et bien traités . <br>Il ne faut pas oublier, que pour plusieurs, ils seront remis en liberté après leur séjour au centre. <br>Je vous le recommande, il n’y a pas que des jeunes personnes, on y retrouve des familles avec jeunes enfants, des jeunes adultes et des plus âgés aussi. <br>J’ai bien aimé le respect des gens pour l’horaire de travail, tout le monde est à l’heure et c’est du bénévolat. <br>Bon séjour là bas !

The most memorable experience from my program was that I had the privilege of working with Costa Rican wildlife for two weeks, and every day I was within a foot of beautiful animals, primarily sloths, but also birds, raccoons, monkeys, and baby animals like a baby raccoon in an incubator. Also memorable was that almost every afternoon, there would be a rainstorm and I would be able to lie on a couch outdoors, under an awning, reading and watching the rain. The whole thing was incredible from beginning to end, I loved it.

Working in the baby hospital and being a part of the vet team. I got to use the skills I have and also learned from the vets and coordinators. Most memorable was caring for the baby howler monkey from feedings to outdoor time. Also playground time with the sloths.

The most memorable experience from my program was feeding and taking care of the sloths. There was one sloth in particular, named Cappuccino, who we took to the sloth playground everyday and just watched for 30 minutes which was nice.

Learning about the animals in Costa Rica, the conservation efforts and the amazing group of dedicated volunteers was impressive. As a senior, seeing so many young people with such passion was heartwarming!

San Jose, although not the best place for tourism or nature access, was still a cool destination for me as I’m interested in world cultures and sociology, which I certainly saw lots of here. My host family was super kind and the volunteer experience taught me a lot about the education system here in Costa Rica. It opened my eyes to how the poorest populations can be the happiest. I wish I had done more research before choosing to volunteer in this city, but I definitely spent my time well and am grateful for the experience Maximo Nivel gave me. They were really supportive and made the traveling easier for sure!

There’s no one experience. I feel that my stay had some positive impact on the care of the animals and on absolutely on myself-personal satisfaction as well as personal growth. Meeting all of the staff and volunteers was amazing! A wonderful staff and the volunteers just blew my mind! So many young people from all over the world. Meeting them and working together was phenomenal. My heart is full. Thank you.

I enjoyed some of the activites , but not others. The rivre walk and the walk to the koppies was 10/10. No intrenet was challenging , so 7/10. Jane , Precious , Patrick and Lucas were 10/10. I woul recommend this project to anyone who needs a detox from Social media.
