I recently completed the Destination TEFL course in Siem Reap, and it was a valuable experience that gave me the confidence and practical skills to begin teaching English abroad. After completing the 4-week Destination TEFL course, I can honestly say it's an experience I'd recommend to anyone interested in teaching ESL learners abroad. We also had the opportunity to take a Khmer lesson with Chy, which was an eye-opening experience. Instead of just telling us information, he showed us how powerful interactive activities are in helping students learn. Experiencing a lesson from the student's perspective was something I'll carry with me into my own classroom. Overall, Destination TEFL exceeded my expectations. It gave me practical experience, confidence, lifelong memories, and the support I needed to begin my teaching journey. If you're debating whether to do the full course, my advice is simple: trust the process and trust the course. You won't regret it.

I chose Destination TEFL because: I contacted Willie directly and explained my situation. He recommended the fast-track recruitment programme which was something I didn't know existed and sounded very useful for me. I'm glad I did the fast-track course as I wouldn't have felt prepared to start work in a school without the teaching practicum part, especially. The feedback I got was useful although could have been slightly more in depth at times. I also realise that a lot of this is up to me as an individual to work out for myself, so is not something I would count against the course or Willie. I would recommend this course to a friend.

Fantastic experience, and excellent guidance throughout! Highly recommended. Been in Kampuchea 6 years 🇰🇭 and it’s stolen my heart. Was part of the first Destination TEFL group and it was a fantastic experience. Then Covid hit! Some of the promised things couldn’t happen, but they were adapted as best as they could be. Some of the methods learnt, I’ve never taught here, but they were a grounding I learnt to build on and expand. The friends I made in SR will always be in my heart, unfortunately some of us only keep in touch on social media. The trainer was fantastic and I learnt so much through going to pracs.
