Things to know

Before you go, there are a few practical things worth knowing so you can settle in smoothly and avoid surprises.

• Visas - Student visas take time and documentation. Apply early and double check requirements with your program provider.
• Dress code - Modesty is key, for all genders. You don’t need to wear traditional Saudi clothing, but respect the norms.
• Gender norms - Some spaces and interactions are still gender-separated. It may take getting used to, but it’s part of the context you're stepping into.

Internet access - You’ll be online, but some sites and services may be restricted. Download a VPN before you go, just in case.
