Your Summer in São Paulo program lasts 4 weeks (or up to 8 weeks) and is designed for students from all academic backgrounds. You will choose from CIEE courses taught in-person at CIEE São Paulo. Brazil’s capital of the southern state of Santa Catarina, Florianópolis, is on an island featuring breathtaking scenery and vibrant cultural and university life. Students enroll at the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, where students can experience firsthand the life of Brazilian students. They live in a homestay, allowing access to the life of a local family. Through coursework, various extracurricular activities with peers, internships, or volunteer work, they are expected to "live the language" in Florianópolis. The Middlebury - C.V. Starr Schools Abroad are characterized by a commitment to language development. Students sign and honor the Language Pledge, promising to speak only the target language during their time abroad.
