Murdoch University in Perth was the first university in Australia to offer an undergraduate degree in Environmental Science and the first in Western Australia to offer Marine Science. In this short intensive program, you’ll cover the diversity and physical processes of Western Australia’s marine habitats; focus on coral reef environments and the biodiversity of reef organisms; and study biological processes. Veterinary Service: Australia is available as both a high school program (ages 14-18) and a college and young adult program (ages 18-25). This amazing opportunity takes place outside of Sydney, in Calga Springs, where you will live at a ZAA-accredited wildlife sanctuary for two weeks. Your group will be led by a team of veterinarians who help oversee all activities and teach you all about Australian animals. From kangaroos and koalas to frogmouths and pythons, this sanctuary has pretty much any Australian animal you can dream of (except for a platypus). You will get hands-on while learning about marsupials, mammals, birds, and reptiles as well as helping with their upkeep, enrichment, and medical needs. You will work alongside veterinarians and the park staff each day. On weekends, we will head to Sydney for fun activities, including a trip to the Sydney Opera House and some famous beaches. We will also have a behind-the-scenes visit to the veterinary world of the famous Taronga Zoo. An additional adventure week can be added to explore Australia more. The Filmmaking Summer School offers intensive hands-on teaching in many aspects of professional film production. The course is designed to cover the essential skills, basic knowledge and industry insight needed to make films, knowledge that would normally require years of experience to acquire, and will equip participants with the confidence, knowledge and skills to start a career in film or television and translate their own ideas and visions to the screen. The summer school is designed for people with little or no prior filmmaking experience, practising filmmakers wanting to change career direction, media teachers and students. In 2027 we will be presenting 3 choices of courses. The 5 day Script to Screen (Jan 6 to 10, 2027), the 1 day Devising and Bringing a Script to Life - Writing, Directing & Acting (Jan 6, 2027) , and the 4 day Cinematography -Make a Film (Jan 7 to 10 2027).
