Blue Lagoon & Coral Reef Monitoring Program, Mauritius

Join this program as a marine conservation volunteer on the island of Mauritius and work within an NGO, which aims to preserve natural resources and ecosystems from pollution and destruction due to the lack of general awareness of the public and businesses. This program focuses on the protection, preservation, and restoration of marine environments of the Blue Bay and Point d'Esny regions; particularly their reefs and lagoons. Volunteers will expect to be able to take part in the following: - Lagoon Monitoring (coral/fish monitoring and recording general activity) - Beach and Mangrove Cleaning and Monitoring - Community engagement initiatives. Both areas of the project possess much marine biodiversity, with as many as 38 species of coral and 72 species of fish.
