Volunteer in some of the most remote and magnificent parts of the Amazon through the Amazon Basin Research and Conservation Project in Peru provided by Working Abroad. This program provides participants with a rare opportunity to work with expert conservationists and biologists, assisting them in long-term research on the Amazon to understand the effects of human actions on wildlife and endangered species and find ways to conserve the rainforest and the Amazon ecosystem.

Peru is an archaeology and ancient sights haven and is one of 17 mega-diverse countries in the world, with over 1,701 bird species, 34 primate species, and over 500 reptiles and amphibian species. However, because of current environmental threats—unsustainable farming practices, pollution, and timber extraction—the Peruvian rainforest, particularly the Amazon, is becoming endangered. Being able to help conserve the Amazon wildlife and nature is a great way to help preserve the natural world.

Program eligibility includes:
* at least 18 years of age unless accompanied by a parent or guardian (at the discretion of the Project Manager)
* In good health,
* A good level of physical fitness
