Established in 1877, the University of Tokyo (UTokyo) is known as the first national university in Japan. The University provides different academic courses at undergraduate and graduate levels inclined to support the academic needs of students. The University of Tokyo maintains a number of high quality facilities across Japan with three major campuses located in Hongo, Komaba, and Kashiwa. Through active collaboration in both research and education-based projects, the University provides its students with a diverse range of opportunities for international activity. It has 56 university facilities all over Japan and 42 overseas facilities, graduate schools, institutes, and university-wide centers.
