I was able to get a great job in Shanghai, China. I am very happy with this company. I found this course to be better than my friend who paid a lot of money in University. The staff was very helpful with my many questions, and I have read many horror stories online about other companies. I highly recommend for anyone who is starting off for the first time. Thank you!
Useful for those without teaching experience

I've been teaching for a three years, so some of this course was redundant, but some were new information and valuable. The MOST useful part about this course was giving me a number of taped classrooms to watch and take notes on without having to leave my room. The only bad thing was I wished every video was labeled with the grade and age of the students, but that's it.

I can’t recommend teaching nomad and their TEFL course enough! Within 2 weeks of setting up a profile with them I had landed my dream job. I completed their TEFL course and have now been working in China for two months. The job is amazing and the city is great. Thank you TN!
Learning to teach in Shanghai

I was very nervous about doing the course. I have been to Shanghai once before but that was for one week. I was not sure how I would do for four weeks. Everyone was helpful when they could help. I had trouble with getting my phone to work and they was able to help me with that. The instructions to get to where to classes were being held was good and they even had pictures of certain parts as you got close to help find it.
The course will start off a little slow but it will speed up fast. That may sound bad but it is a good thing in that you will be busy working on actually teaching students as well. Even if you are scared or unsure teach at least one class. It can be scary but once you try you get a better idea what it is like and you may like it. I was nervous but after my first class I wanted to do it again to get better.
The trainers are helpful and they are friendly. There will be a lot to take in but I think it is worth it and a good experience.
A month in Shanghai

Overall, it has been a very worthwhile experience getting to know the teachers here and living in Shanghai. The teachers were very well versed with the material, and more than eager to answer any questions you might have about the job hunting process, lesson planning and core curriculum. Their expectations overall were very clear about the expectations for the course and its content; however, they could have been a little more specific regarding how the observation forms work, especially with smaller class sizes. They were very helpful when it came to helping me get settled in Shanghai, getting set up with a bank account, a public transportation card, etc, especially once I arrived in the city. They even had somebody who came over and picked me up from the airport by taxi to take me to my intended hostel. Shanghai is a great city too, if you're intimidated by the prospect of moving to a completely foreign city, because it is very cosmopolitan and international; a lot of the people here have a working knowledge of English and experience in dealing with foreigners. I would recommend this course to anyone who wants to get their feet wet first before diving in to take the first plunge. Just maybe expect some hassles along the way when it comes to getting your visa and documentation in order for your pre-trip departure; that was quite a headache for me, but otherwise, it was a great course.
