Why choose St. Stephen's School, Rome?
Learn, Connect, Thrive! St. Stephen's School, founded in 1964, is a non-profit and non-denominational, co-educational, American international day and boarding IB World School in the heart of Rome, across from the Circo Massimo and Foro Romano. We are accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) and the Council of International Schools (CIS). St. Stephen's Summer Programs are memorable, and so are our participants. The unique bonds formed while participating in Summer Programs are unlike any other, and the connections forged between students who share a common transformational summer make us proud. St. Stephen’s is located on two and a half acres in the heart of historic Rome. The School, once a convent and villa, is built around a central courtyard in the classic Roman style. Our campus features a full-service library with internet access available throughout, as well as gardens, a terrace, and courts for basketball and volleyball. Our privileged location in the historic centre of Rome enables us to provide unique cultural, educational, and recreational opportunities for our students; field trips and on-site lectures throughout Rome and the Lazio region of Italy are regularly scheduled in order to take advantage of the school’s prestigious location.

What inspired you to travel abroad?
I was inspired to join the leadership at St. Stephen's School in Rome, Italy, because of our one-of-a-kind academic programs, such as the Dr. Helen Pope Lyceum for Greek and Roman Studies, and our strong tradition of faculty-led study programs for students and alumni that are local, national, and international.
