A Worthwhile Experience At SMWEF Ghana - Volunteering In Construction
January 19, 2026by: Paul de Caraman Chimay - United KingdomEveryone can help. I discovered that when I spent two weeks in Senya-Beraku, helping the SMWEF and in turn, the lovely children in dire need of your help. Most of these two weeks were spent on building a wall. Despite how mundane this may sound, it was quite the opposite. Our coordinator, Tina, made sure that we were exposed to the local community in a very entertaining and safe fashion. This is certainly at the top of my list of things to recommend
Most heart-warming experience of my life
December 02, 2025by: Sidi Jut - NetherlandsVolunteering with SMWEF Ghana has been one of the most meaningful and heart-warming experiences of my life, and it is something I would recommend to absolutely anyone. I volunteered with SMWEF for two months in 2025, and from the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with open arms by Naomi and Seth. SMWEF is deeply committed to giving every child a fair chance at a brighter future. The warmth and kindness these children carry with them is truly indescribable. Being able to put a smile on their faces by giving them the love, time, and attention they deserve is incredibly fulfilling. Their joy and love is so pure and heartwarming, it gave me such a different perspective. The love and passion that Seth and Naomi have for these children is equally indescribable. They give everything they have to give these children a chance at a better future. Their dedication, strength, and wholehearted commitment are truly inspiring. I have the deepest respect for their mission and the tireless work they do every day. You can see and feel the impact they make every single day you are there and they will take you along with every part of the process. SMWEF still needs all the support they can get, and every volunteer truly makes a difference. I cannot recommend SMWEF highly enough. Volunteering with them will fill your heart, broaden your perspective, and leave you with an experience you will cherish for the rest of your life.
Construction of the school
April 19, 2025by: Stephan Tritten - SwitzerlandI had the chance to spend some time in 2021 with Seth, Naomi and the children. That was a beautiful experience that i would highly recommend to anyone. I have participated in construction, in building some walls of new classrooms of the school.
Dear Stephane, Thank you so much for taking out the time to write us positive feedback. We are happy to know that you enjoyed your time in Ghana, loved your host family and your volunteer program. Thank you again for volunteering with us and we wish you all the best in your future endeavors. Thank you for recommending us! Kindest regards, SMWEF Team

One of the most meaningful experiences I’ve ever had.
March 18, 2025by: Schirli Goldberger - SwitzerlandProgram: Childcare Volunteer Program in Ghana
I’ve traveled a lot, but volunteering for SMWEF was one of the most inspiring and meaningful experiences I’ve ever had. Seth and Naomi are incredibly kind and welcoming, and Naomi’s cooking is amazing. The accommodation is cozy and equipped with Western-style washrooms. The project is located in rural Ghana, where you can experience the country’s authentic culture. I even had the unique opportunity to attend a wedding and a funeral, which gave me a deep insight into their traditions and way of life. The organization’s work is inspiring and crucial. In a region known for child trafficking, they fight every day to rescue children and give them a chance for a better future through education. The children and the teachers in the school are simply amazing. I enjoyed everyday with them and I miss them a lot. Many important projects and plans are still in progress, and volunteers are essential in helping to make them happen. If you’re looking to make a real impact, this is the perfect opportunity. Just go for it! ?

Very heartwarming NGO with a great impact
March 17, 2025by: Schlomit Goldberger - SwitzerlandProgram: Childcare Volunteer Program in Ghana
Through my sister, I had the opportunity to get to know the NGO and even spend a week on-site. It was incredibly moving to see how the small team, with limited resources but immense dedication, fought every day to give the children the best possible chance for a better future. The team works with great transparency and commitment, approaching new projects thoughtfully to ensure they are sustainable and make a lasting impact. As a volunteer, you will be warmly welcomed by Seth, Naomi, and the teachers. Seth genuinely cares about the well-being of the volunteers, and Naomi’s cooking was the best I had during my five weeks in Ghana (and Ghanaian food is already amazing! :-)). If you’re looking for an NGO where you can be sure that both money and effort go directly to those who need it most, I can highly recommend this one—both for donations and as a volunteer. They are currently in urgent need of sponsors for the teachers, as their salaries cannot always be paid regularly. Children can also be sponsored. The NGO is grateful for any support, helping them take step-by-step action toward giving these children a better future.
Dear Schlomit, Thank you so much for your heartfelt and positive review, Schlomit. We're overjoyed to hear that your one-week volunteer in Ghana through your sister's recommendation at the Excellence Centre were some of the best of your life. It's fantastic that the volunteer in Childcare Program met your needs perfectly, combining valuable childcare and teaching experience with Ghanaian culture and lessons. We're glad to know that the emphasis on community and making everyone feel welcome helped you overcome your initial concerns and led to lasting friendships. It's wonderful to hear that the work you did was both fulfilling and empowering, and that you felt a significant personal and professional growth. Also, thank you for highlighting on the organization's transparency and accountability which is worth a merit. Thank you Schlomit, for being such a special part of our community and we really appreciate your cooperation! Your encouragement for others to take the leap and join the Excellence Centre is deeply appreciated. We're so glad you found the program rewarding and truly appreciate your recommendation. Thank you again for your kind words, and we'll miss you too, Schlomit! Greetings from Ghana! SMWEF Team
the best descision I could've made!
January 04, 2025by: Sophia Valentina Pieper - GermanyThe St. Miracle Works Educational Foundation is a very heartwarming project. I was there for a month, and it clearly had an impact on how I see life. The kids are full of joy, and everybody is just spreading love and energy. One day after I arrived, the kids already started shouting my name when I passed by and wanted me to wave or just say „hi“. But not only the kids, also the teachers were wonderful! Even though the teaching in Ghana is rougher than where I am from, the love within the teaching is undoubted. The kids love the teachers, and so do the teachers love the kids! Events like running competitions, quizzes, or just dancing and making music are making it visible how much of a family the whole project is. Nevertheless, it is obvious that the project needs all of the help it can get. The project does not have enough money at all. The hosts have to skip meals, teachers can’t get paid regularly, the few books they have are not up to date, workbooks have to be written and drawn by the teachers, and the whole project relies on donations. And even though the hosts are struggling, they do everything they can to make it the best experience for the volunteers. If there had been a problem, I easily could have told Seth and Naomi (the host family). I think what describes the bonding between the couple and their volunteers the best is that they remember every single volunteer. Their name, where they are from, and what they did in the project. Even after years and years of volunteers. If you really want to help to change something, this project is the perfect place. It's not about profit; it's about having an impact and changing something in the system. I worked in construction and helped in teaching, and I loved both so, so much. It doesn't matter in what kind of field you want to help; construction, teaching, social work, health care, sports stuff, and so on... I know that the St. Miracle Works Educational Foundation is going to make it the best experience that they could give you.
Dear Sophia, Thank you for your incredible review, Sophia! We're thrilled to her that your experience at the center in Ghana turned out to be so rewarding and transformative. It's wonderful to know that, despite a rocky start, you found the support and communication you needed once you arrived. We're delighted that you enjoyed learning and assisting with construction works and teaching English made such a positive impact on your language skills and overall experience. Your kind words about the construction and teaching program mean a lot to us. It's truly inspiring to hear that you left with not just new language and construction skills but also a deeper understanding of history, humanity, and resilience. Thank you for your recommendations! With kind regards from Ghana, SMWEF Tea,

My Best Volunteering Experience
October 21, 2024by: Amin Adoudou - FranceFrom the first day, their welcoming and warmth towards me have been nothing but clear. Whether it be guiding through Ghanaian culture or teaching construction, they have made more sacrifices than I can count to make sure their volunteers (including me) got a wonderful experience. Having been there 6 weeks, I got the opportunity to experience both construction and the children. Beyond academics, the environment there is better than anything you could imagine. Whilst life is simple, the community, rooted in brotherhood and love, made it pass so much quicker and enjoyable. Really, my time there zoomed through. I would like to also mention how amazing the impact of this project is. By proving food, education, and shelter to underprivileged kids in a rural setting, you really make a difference. Seth always likes to mention how volunteers are the backbone of the organization, and while this is true, none of this could have happened without his and Naomi’s endless dedication. If there is ANY project I could recommend for volunteers, this is the one if you want to make a true difference.
Dear Amin, Thank you very much for your kind words, dedication and leaving an amazing review of your experience in Ghana with SMWEF Ghana. We are very much happy to know that you had a wonderful time in Ghana. You really did a commendable job for the project especially helping with administrative works and the students would be thankful to you always for your unwavering support and cooperation! Thank you once again for sharing your experience with us. We look forward to having you back in the program soon again. Many thanks and kind regards! SMWEF Ghana Team
A truly wonderful experience!
September 01, 2024by: Owen Lanfrey - FranceI spent 2 weeks in July with St miracle works educational foundation as a construction and renovation volunteer. During my stay, I got to mix mortar, plaster walls and help with renovations that were needed but I also got to spend some time with the children of the school, building paper aeroplanes and teaching French. This was a truly wonderful experience and the kids love having volunteers, they are the highlight of this truly wonderful organisation. Seth and Naomie work very hard to make your stay the best it can be. I really recommend helping them out as you will get to discover a wonderful country and people as well as feeling that you are making a difference where help is needed!
Dear Owen, Your positive review is truly wonderful and appreciated. Thank you for your commitment towards our Community Development project in Ghana. Great things are achieved when our global network of volunteers come together. We hope to see you volunteering with us again in Ghana. Many thanks and kind regards, SMWEF Team
An unforgettable experience
August 29, 2024by: Nils Rousselle - CanadaMy Name is Nils, I went alone for 3 Weeks to Ghana, Senya Beraku for volunteering when I was 16. Seth came to greet me at the Airport and it was great. Seth and Naomi then hosted me as a family member since the first day. I learned much stuff about building and Ghanian culture. The life-rhythm they have, gives energy and motivation in the morning that I never had before. Naomi showed me delicious local foods, and she showed me how to teach to little kids. Seth was really honest and all the money usage was completely transparent. We went to the village really often, and we spoke to many people. The people there are so friendly and open to conversation, and I could meet many new persons. If you are looking for doing volunteering, I recommend to you St. Miracle Works Educational Foundation with all my heart. I am sure they have all you are looking for in volunteering and even more. And we need your help.
Dear Nils, A big thank you to you for taking out the time to volunteer with us. We are happy to know that you enjoyed your time in Ghana. Thank you again for volunteering with us, helping our community development project and we wish you the best in your future endeavors. We hope to work with you again preferably, on different projects. Kindest, SMWEF Team
