Volunteers will engage in construction activities such as digging, plastering, block shaping, brick molding, concrete mixing, steel bending, wiring, chiseling, mixing sand and cement, brick laying, carrying bricks, fetching water, and painting school buildings. They will be led and work together with local skilled craftsmen/artisans who will be providing free labor for the improvement of their communities. Volunteers work with locals to ensure these projects are completed and meet the needs of the people they are benefiting. You may find that the way you are used to working on building projects back home can be different from this experience; the materials used are often a bit simpler, and there can be limited tools for construction.
