Program Overview
The St. Miracle Works Education Foundation (SMWEF Ghana) Medical and Health is designed to offer interns the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of underserved communities. Interns in this program work in a variety of healthcare facilities in rural and semi-rural communities of Ghana. This program is suitable for professionals, students, or aspiring healthcare workers and is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the improvement of public health in Ghana’s rural communities.
During your program, interns will get the opportunity to help in different departments at the hospitals and clinics, as well as encounter different illnesses that you may not necessarily come into contact with in your country.
Departments where you can get involved in the hospital and clinic placement areas include:
• Maternity
• Dental
• Outpatient
• Accident and Emergency
• Gynecology and Obstetrics
• Maternal and Child Health
• Burns Units
• General Ward
• Internal Medicine
• Guidance & Counseling Unit
• Laboratory, etc.
Where will the Elective be done?
SMWEF Ghana places medical and nursing interns in rural communities, offering diverse opportunities for students and health workers, etc.
