Intensive Spanish program in Granada
Submitted by eroum - University of Wisconsin - Whitewater | February 03, 2017
My trip to Granada was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. I would highly recommend going here if you ever get the chance. The Sol advisors there are awesome, and will help you with any problem you may experience while abroad. They are also super friendly, and will do whatever they can to make you feel more comfortable while on your trip. My host family was great, and really pushed me to work on my Spanish. They went out of their way to show me around the city and immerse me in their culture. I felt very welcome in their home as well. The food was amazing, and I miss my host mom's paella a lot! I would highly recommend staying with a host family because your trip just won't be the same without it. Granada is a beautiful city, and a month was not at all long enough to explore all it has to offer. There is so much culture in this city, and I would love to go back one day. There was so much to do and just not enough time. My only regret from this trip was not choosing a longer program. My Spanish improved greatly in just a month, and I cannot imagine how well it would have gotten if I had stayed a whole semester.

If you're reading this, the idea to study abroad is at least in the back of your mind. The best advice I can give is to "just do it". Don't question it. Make it happen. SOL Education Abroad gave me the experience of a life time. A semester full of mind opening travels, amazing new friends, and an experience in a different culture. I am so so so grateful for everything I got from my study abroad with SOL and I wouldn't trade a second of it.
Indulging in the true Spanish culture

I could not have imagined a better program to study abroad through. From the logistics of transferring my classes to the experiences of cultural activities, the structure of this program allowed all the students to enjoy every aspect of it to the fullest! My host family was easily my favorite part of the overall experience and I still keep up with them to this day. I also was introduced to numerous friends who share my passion for Spanish language and culture from all around the world.
SOL Education Abroad - Costa Rica winter break program
Submitted by Amy - Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania | January 24, 2017
This trip was one of the best experiences I've had in my life. I spent 3 weeks in Costa Rica but I wish I could've stayed a full semester. It's one of the most beautiful places in the world, and the people were some of the friendliest I've ever met. SOL did a great job with our program, we had a very detailed schedule and a dedicated director to give us advice along the way. I never felt lost in the program, and the locals (Ticos) were always very willing to help us when we weren't sure where to go.
My Oaxacan adventure

I had never been out of the country before going to Oaxaca, Mexico this winter. I can easily say now that it was the best adventure of my life. The food was great, the culture was different and exciting, the city was beautiful, and the classwork was actually interesting. I made some fantastic friends and I can't wait for my next adventure with Sol!
