My First Steps into the Fashion Industry
August 06, 2025by: Valeriia Zhayvoronok - UkraineProgram: Fashion Internship Programs
Dear Hiring Manager, I am writing to express my strong interest in joining your fashion business internship program. With practical experience in retail and a background in visual styling and communications, I am eager to contribute to your team while continuing to grow professionally in the fashion industry. Fashion has always been a deep personal passion of mine. I have previously worked as a sales assistant in a clothing store in the Netherlands and as a fashion model for Ukrainian brands. These experiences helped me develop a strong understanding of customer preferences, visual aesthetics, and product presentation — all of which I believe are essential in the fashion business. Currently, I live in the Netherlands and speak English fluently, while also actively learning French. In fact, I plan to apply next year to a fashion business program in France to continue my education in this field. I strongly believe that this internship would be an ideal step toward building a strong foundation before entering a formal academic program. It would also allow me to gain practical, international experience in the fashion industry. I am enthusiastic, detail-oriented, and eager to learn. I am confident that my strong work ethic, creative eye, and multilingual skills will allow me to contribute positively to your team. Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to the opportunity to learn and grow within your organization.

Small Town to World Adventurer
August 27, 2024by: Erskine Payton - United StatesProgram: Cybersecurity Internship Programs
Coming from a small town in Michigan I had never traveled outside the Midwest prior to joining the Marine Corps. This presented me with an opportunity work in and visit parts of Asia, like Japan and Korea. Since leaving The Corps I have since visited several counties including Paris (twice), Johannesburg, South Africa and Scotland on a study abroad trip. I think it important that we see the world to appreciate how other parts of the planet operate and for me to see how other countries view the United States. I have gotten mixed reviews by the way. What I have learned to appreciate the country of my birth and that we are not all that different.

Global Cybersecurity Professional with International Expertise
December 29, 2023by: Aksura Rahimli - AzerbaijanProgram: Cybersecurity Internship Programs
I am a seasoned cybersecurity professional with a diverse international background, having spent approximately five years studying and gaining valuable experience in France and continuing my academic journey at Cambrian College in Canada. During my time in France, I successfully completed a Master's degree in Innovation Strategies and Statistics, equipping myself with a strong analytical foundation. Subsequently, I extended my expertise by working in various capacities, notably as a Junior Statistician at Alstom Transport in Paris, where I efficiently managed and analyzed large datasets for railway signalization systems. Additionally, I undertook a role as an Adjunct Lecturer at Azerbaijan Economic University, contributing to the academic landscape in Baku, Azerbaijan, for two years. My commitment to excellence and passion for cybersecurity led me to work as a Cyber Security Network Scanner at SUMAKS.COM in Baku and later in Moscow, where I conducted vulnerability assessments and implemented security measures to safeguard critical information infrastructure. Currently, I am based in Canada, contributing my skills and knowledge as a Cyber Security Manager at DAV20TECH, fortifying networks against unauthorized access and cyber threats. This rich and varied international experience has uniquely shaped my approach to cybersecurity, providing me with a global perspective and a comprehensive skill set that I am eager to leverage in contributing to cybersecurity initiatives worldwide.

It started with a Google search
February 24, 2021by: Mark Anthony Pineda - CanadaProgram: At-Risk Youth Mentor (Education/Social Services) Internships
It started with a Google search. I tried to look for ways to travel despite the pandemic. I am bored to death at home. I searched available internships on Google, and tadah the Institute for Global Studies came up. I was very hesitant at first, but the video call with Dr. Adams made me trust the organization. He assured me everything will be safe and sound. Fast forward, 1 week after my internship in Hawaii. I so missed the people there, the people I bonded the most, the children whom I taught English, and the IGS mentors I gained along the way. Glad that I did that Google search!
Thailand is beautiful
February 24, 2021by: Giovanni Smith - United StatesProgram: At-Risk Youth Mentor (Education/Social Services) Internships
I became a youth mentor in Bangkok and all I can say is Thailand is really beautiful. More than the postcards and the YouTube videos that I watch, it is intensely more beautiful in person. We toured Bangkok during weekend trips - me and my co-interns. They are nice people and fun to be with at the same time. Among all the places we visited, mI can't forget The Grand Palace and the floating market. There are still so many tourists!
An honor to be chosen as an intern
February 24, 2021by: Leanna U - UgandaIndeed, domestic violence poses serious threats to women and their children. I have witnessed it first hand in my own home, and I regret every second of it. When I was presented with the chance to work with women and children in their care shelters, I was ecstatic. Even told it to my mom and she was very supportive. Internships like these are rare, and being chosen as an intern here is an honor for me. Happy to do it with IGS! :)
Fulfilling
February 24, 2021by: Jordyn T - United StatesAs a policy student, I really am very interested with this internship. When my classmate told me her experience with IGS, I did not hesitate and applied. Good thing, IGS's courses are available the whole year, so I was able to find an internship suitable to my needs and preferences. I got to experience 3 weeks of fulfilling and rewarding internship, and actually make a difference on others' lives.
Educating at-risk youth
February 24, 2021by: Vianca F - United Arab EmiratesProgram: At-Risk Youth Mentor (Education/Social Services) Internships
As an Education Major, I know that the childhood phase and early youth phase are crucial stages in one's life. That's the precise reason why I chose this internship. Here, I was given the chance to work with children abandoned by parents and committed some juvenile crimes. We created teaching lessons for them and spearheaded class discussions. What melted my heart is that they are really actively participating and very much enthusiastic as they listen. I wish I could extend my trip, but I had to go home because of personal matters. I'll be back I promise!
So much learning
February 24, 2021by: Pamela S - United KingdomChildren and women are being exposed to so many risks, like emotional, psychological, sexual, and physical abuses. While society are doing its best to address these issues, there are still a handful of cases left unheard and unresolved. In my internship, I was tasked to answer hotline calls from abused women and children, interact in their therapy sessions, and even organize parties for the children in the shelter. These kids are so adorable and I could not bear the fact that some people are finding it easy to resent them. At the outset, before we started our internships, we are trained by licensed guidance counselors and psychologists and told us what to and not to do. I learned a lot.
