Institute for Global Studies offers an internship placement at a monastery north of the ancient Buddhist town of Boudhanath in Nepal. Students serve as apprentices under a world-renowned Tibetan monk and leader. Weekly dharma talks initiate them into an evolving practice. Complementing the study of Buddhist principles is the opportunity to practice the dharma. Students donate their time to selected projects aimed at temple restoration, as well as the education of the monks in residence. Tutor sessions in the English language and world geography are held for monks within the temples.
