High School Student Exchange Programs in Granada

My high school child went on the program in Granada, Spain with Arcos. The highlights were gaining a greater knowledge of the Spanish language and culture, getting to meet new people, and spending time with the homestay. It's worth participating. They will have fun!

The Arcos Journeys Abroad program offered my daughter an amazing and safe opportunity to immerse herself in the culture of Granada, Spain. As a parent, I felt completely secure with her traveling abroad. I highly recommend this experience for your high schooler!

The Arcos communication and updates were excellent. The greatest benefits for my son were the cultural immersion and increased confidence in speaking Spanish. The pre-departure documents were excellent. I suggest setting up an international phone plan ahead of time.

The highlights were probably the sense of independence and adventure. The Spanish language learning component was very positive. The trip leaders were excellent communicators and everything was highly organized. My recommendation is to do it! This is a good option for Spanish immersion in Spain.

Arcos did a great job with explaining everything as well as providing a packing list and confirmation of safe arrival in Spain. It’s a great program for teens to have a true immersion experience. Through this program, my son acquired a desire to travel abroad more, an appreciation for different cultures and customs, and enjoyed the opportunity of living in a new city.

This is a really great summer program for high school students. Arcos takes care of everything. A helpful tip is to bring activities like cards to play with other students during siesta and downtime. The only challenge was the heat, which is normal in Spain in the summer.

Language acquisition and independence in town were great benefits. While more learning levels for classes would be constructive, the outcomes were good. My homestay with Nuria was wonderful! Social interactions may vary since it's a smaller sized program.

The classes were the most efficient way to learn Spanish. My advice is to speak as much as possible to improve fluency. The directors were also very good at taking photos. The main challenge was auditory comprehension, as the instructors speak fast and with an accent. Overall, I benefited greatly by learning about Spanish culture and language.

Our Spanish classes were fun, and our teacher's knowledgeable approach significantly improved my Spanish fluency. Staying with our kind and welcoming hostess, Ana, was a highlight; her excellent cooking and conversational setting helped us acclimate to Granada life and improve our Spanish. Splitting students by language level was a great decision, leading to positive classroom experiences. Homestay feedback was also very positive, with students feeling cared for and enjoying the welcoming hosts and amazing food.

The Arcos director was an outstanding leader—super nice, organized, and intelligent. I enjoyed the Spanish discussions and the class approach to "ser & estar" and perfect vs. imperfect tenses. I saw significant improvement in my Spanish and gained a greater understanding of Spanish history and culture. Make the most of your free time in the country.

The Arcos Director Amancio was excellent, providing fun and educational activities. Our homestay mother, Ana, was very fun and sociable. Be prepared to only speak Spanish with your homestay parents! A minor challenge was finding meat-free food. Overall, a fantastic experience!
