Sociology Study Abroad Programs in France

Spend a semester or academic year in the sunny, cosmopolitan city of Cannes, France, with AIFS Abroad! You’ll earn up to 18 credits per semester through various courses while studying at the Campus International de Cannes. Courses are taught in English or French, without previous French language study required. There are many volunteer and non-credit internship opportunities in Cannes. Recent AIFS Abroad students have assisted local T.V. production companies, tutored elementary school children, helped out in a local hospice, and more. For spring semester students, a Cannes Film Festival Internship is also available. Participating students receive a ‘Cannes cinephile’ pass, which grants admission to films in various theaters during the Film Festival. Cultural and social activities include: • Cannes city tour • Wine and cheese tasting • Theater tickets to the opera, ballet, and musicals • 4-day trip to Paris • 2-day trip to Provence • Afternoon trips to Antibes and the Picasso Museum, Grasse, and Île Sainte Marguerite as well as day trips to Monaco and St. Tropez An optional 3-day excursion to Florence, Italy, is available.

Apply to our Paris program and get the chance to attend French culture and language, business, and/or elective courses based on your academic goals! Your choices of institutions are the American Business School Paris (ABSP), the Cours de Civilization Française de la Sorbonne (CCFS), and the Institut Catholique de Paris. All courses, except French language and some culture courses, are taught in English by guest lecturers and international professors. Our Paris office is located in the Latin Quarter, across the Seine River from the Notre Dame Cathedral. Our French Language Immersion & Area Studies Program has two important goals: to improve your written and verbal proficiency in French through language and area studies courses and to introduce you to contemporary France and its role in the European Union. A beautiful city on the Loire River, Nantes is the perfect place to perfect your French.
