SEEDS Iceland

SEEDS provided me with the opportunity to see beautiful places, make new friends, and give back to Iceland. In Bíldudalur, we helped clean beaches and promote tourism in the area. Located next to the 3rd largest glacier in the world in Skaftafell, we enjoyed beautiful views and a pristine landscape. My favorite SEEDS experience was in Kirkjubæjarklaustur. Our host was very friendly and kind. He taught us traditional Icelandic songs and took us on a magical ride out to the misty shores of Southern Iceland. Through my experience with SEEDS, I made many friends from around the world. I am still in close contact with some of the volunteers that I met on SEEDS workcamps. Also, through SEEDS, I fell in love with the landscape, music, and culture. Since volunteering with SEEDS, I have traveled back to Iceland twice. I can't get enough of this country!

Dear SEEDS 53! That was amazing! You are all great! It was you who made this cold country really warm to me! It s quite sad to say good bye! But the world is not as big as it seems to be. Special thanks to our great leader Gosia. You are the best organizer.

Dear SEEDS, As I am writing this, I realize what the word SEEDS implies. From my own experience, and from talking to other volunteers, it seems like you planted something special in all of us! I don t know how to put it in words, a fascination maybe, a curiosity, magic… thank you so much for the opportunity to be part of this great adventure, for the people I have met and all the wonderful memories I have now! Having participated in the SEEDS project was one of my greatest experiences ever! Despite the nearly 24-hour flight to Iceland with 2 stops in between, the people and scenery there makes every second of it worthwhile. Thanks to our great team leaders Gosia, Eddy and Florian, we enjoyed a lot of happy moments even when we were working hard at the volunteer work. It was a great pleasure to talk with local people and learn about their daily lives. This is more than just travelling. Vesturgata 51 makes me feel like home and I would definitely recommend this workcamp to my friends, to see the extraordinary side of this world's northest capital.
