Koech Corp.

Working for Koech Corp was a wonderful experience for me. All of the employees are so warm, and Claudia Fuentes was very willing to help me or answer questions about my concerns. To be honest, I was worried about moving to Peru, site unseen. But when I arrived, I was greeted by Claudia and taken to a spacious apartment in the Miraflores district. Some of the other interns thought the living space was outdated, but I had no problems and thought the apartment was great. Then again, I did snag the big bedroom with my own bathroom! The actual work at Koech was not intimidating. As a former journalism student, I felt very qualified to handle the work requirements. I really think anyone that has experience with research and writing could handle the job. The days are long, but Koech was very generous with vacation leave. In sum, I would definitely work for Koech again if I had the opportunity. I encourage and recommend anyone to apply for this experience.

I had a truly wonderful time in Peru and would recommend this programme to anyone. I was a little wary at first but as soon as I was met by Claudia and introduced to the other interns I knew I had made the right decision. The staff at Koech make you feel very welcome, and although the days can sometimes be long and monotonous, it is a great place to work. In addition, they provide you with decent accommodation in Miraflores which is the nicest bit of town, and you get Spanish classes too so you are well looked after. If anyone is considering this experience then I would advise you make the most of the holiday time that Koech kindly give you - Peru is a beautiful country and you should definitely do all you can to see as much of it as possible. This experience is fantastic, it looks great on your CV/resume and you make new friends for life.
