Sports Volunteering Abroad in Swaziland

Join in the Sports Volunteering Community project in Swaziland with Kaya Responsible Travel. Volunteers will assist the locally-led team in providing access to sports, exercise, and games for children aged under 6. As a sports volunteer, you will participate in the activities, supporting and encouraging children who are on the shy side, or who are struggling with following the rules of games. During weekends, volunteers have the opportunity to go hiking in the mountains, see the wildlife at Mkhaya Reserve, visit the cultural markets, relax in a spa, or watch a film in the local cinema! Volunteers are not required to have any specific skills, but a lot of energy and enthusiasm to help them keep up with energetic youngsters are a must. Volunteers must be interested in sports and those who are knowledgeable about the rules of games are welcome. Volunteers with sports coaching experience will be a great asset.

Childcare or Teaching Volunteering, Eswatini (Swaziland)

Volunteer as a teacher in Eswatini (formerly called Swaziland). You will assist in teaching children at schools located in areas threatened by the highest HIV/ AIDS and unemployment rates in Africa. Volunteers will help local teachers to lead simple activities at preschools to engage young children and help them with basic English and maths, OR in a primary school, assist the local teacher with classes, including geography, science, maths, English, and more. The project works with pre-schools and primary schools that offer hope and education to young children in deprived areas of Eswatini. The national curriculum of Eswatini follows the English schooling system. These schools are generally located in the Ezulwini-Lobamba semi-rural area in central Eswatini. Some schools in these communities are under-resourced and overcrowded. Volunteers get the invaluable opportunity to encourage, motivate, and assist in the development of the children and the schools. Accommodation is in shared dorms at a quality lodge located in beautiful grounds in the valley with a pool and stunning mountain backdrop.
