Teaching English in India gives you the great opportunity to share your knowledge with others and experience a new culture from within. It is one of the best ways to truly catch a glimpse of the soul of a place. You’ll have a lot of fun and gain valuable skills while your students practice their skills with you learning English in a whole new way. Volunteers will teach for approximately 3 to 5 hours per day five days a week. In this program, volunteers can work by themselves or alongside other teachers and volunteers. Volunteers are also encouraged to work with local teachers to develop new teaching practices and help with their personal conversational English to enable them to teach English in the future. We work with seven schools (rural schools and slum schools) in Delhi; six are located in Faridabad, Delhi. On the Dharamsala program, the schools are located in and around the towns of Bir and Dharamsala. Volunteers do not need to be qualified teachers or have previous teaching experience in order to teach on this program.

India is plagued with issues involving women's empowerment and security. Volunteering With India (VWI) aims to help women through projects based in rural areas and slums. Volunteers can help out by participating in the empowerment program. Every woman and juvenile girls that come to our center adopt a good basic education and training program. Be that as it may, we have some other training programs for women such as stitching work, beautician course, drawing and henna paint. On education level, we make sure every women has a basic English speaking language along with mathematics because of the fact that English is well accepted globally as a way of effective communication. Many of the women who attend our center even do not know how to write or read; attending our everyday classes help them a lot. This project also offers space for the children which live near by to attend free education classes from our center. Some of the women bring their children along to the sessions and volunteers can help look after their children whilst the women are learning.

We are looking for volunteers to teach English in a remote village school in Ladakh, a fascinating corner of India where you will encounter an ancient Tibetan Buddhist culture. Located on the Tibetan Plateau, Ladakh lies behind the Himalayan mountain range and receives very little rainfall. HELP is a registered British charity with a specific focus on enhancing educational opportunities in impoverished communities in Nepal and the Indian Himalayas. We achieve this by sponsoring young people, donating funds to schools, and placing skilled volunteers within these schools. We are not a travel agency. Our volunteer programme is not just an add-on to a package holiday. If you have no experience or qualifications, we can direct you to relevant online courses that can help you develop your skills. We will also provide you with TEFL materials to help you cope with the first weeks of teaching. However, we cannot provide you with the personal qualities that will enable you to thrive outside your comfort zone. These jobs are challenging, life-enhancing, and best suited to mature people.
