Help Preserve the Wilderness of Botswana

Disconnect from the modern world and immerse yourself in one of Africa’s last true wilderness areas while having a positive impact on wildlife sustainability. Spend your days as a volunteer monitoring wildlife species such as lions, elephants, hyenas, zebras, and more. At night, return to your rustic tented camp—deep in the African bush—to learn about the ecology, biology, and behavior of the region’s wildlife and local cultures while under an impressive night sky far from any light pollution. When you wake up, it’s not unusual to see animal footprints throughout the camp! This unique program is headed by a Ph.D. Wildlife Management Researcher and leading ecologist in Botswana, and your volunteering work will directly contribute to the preservation of the area. You’ll also work closely with a local wildlife ranger and an expert tracker to survey the movement and populations of various species, from the iconic to the elusive. You’ll have the opportunity to view stunning landscapes on game drives through the famous and biodiverse Moremi Game Reserve, explore the waterways on the Mokoro boat trip, and see the area from the sky by booking a scenic flight over the Okavango Delta.
