How to Study Abroad in Paris, France

Prepare to Study Abroad

Set goals

Paris is a city that invites curiosity, creativity, and personal growth. Setting intentional goals can help you get the most from your study abroad experience:

  • Build language skills. Practice French daily—whether in class, at a bakery, or with local students.
  • Push your boundaries. Try new foods, navigate unfamiliar neighborhoods, and engage with cultural differences.
  • Learn beyond the classroom. Use museums, theaters, and historic sites as extensions of your academic journey.
  • Create balance. Prioritize both study and self-care with quiet moments along the Seine or spontaneous café conversations that remind you why you chose Paris.

Understand the benefits

Studying abroad in Paris opens doors to personal, academic, and professional growth in one of the world’s most iconic cities:

  • Language immersion. Strengthen your French through daily interactions and optional language courses.
  • Career edge. Stand out with international experience in a global city known for business, politics, and the arts.
  • Daily inspiration. Let the city’s architecture, cuisine, and café culture spark your creativity and curiosity.
  • Lifelong memories. From weekend markets to midnight strolls by the Seine, Paris becomes more than a classroom—it becomes home.

Things to know

Studying abroad in Paris is as inspiring as it is educational. Here are some practical things to keep in mind:

  • Cultural norms. Politeness matters—always greet with “Bonjour” and be mindful of local etiquette.
  • Academic style. French universities can be more formal and lecture-heavy—adjust expectations accordingly.
  • Housing. Options include student residences, host families, and private rentals—start your search early.
  • Healthcare. France has excellent healthcare; students may need to enroll in the national health system or get private insurance.
  • Money matters. Credit cards are widely accepted, but it’s smart to have some euros on hand.

I believe if any student can participate in this program, they should take real advantage of it. They offer a lot of subjects, Economics, Art, Business, Culture, Design, Sociology, History, Political Science. The knowledge one gain is massive and in a lot of disciplines. I am really happy to participate the connections i made is totally worth it. Forum Nexus staff are very knowledgeable, they know what they are doing. not to mention that they are easily approachable and always prepared for any problems could occur.
