At NYU Paris, you’ll practice your French language skills while being immersed in French culture. If you’re a beginner, you’ll take courses taught in both French and English. But if you have some knowledge, you’ll take all of your courses in French. Courses include "France and the European Union: Europe in Crisis," "Fundamentals of Machine Learning," and "Writing Paris." In Nice, you will live in a modern student apartment, in the beautiful Old Port neighborhood, in the very heart of town. Every student chooses two classes as their academic focus: a major and an elective. The French major class meets every morning Monday to Friday while electives meet three afternoons a week. Electives include French Conversation, Photography, Sports, and Studio Art. Abbey Road provides three meals a day of high-quality food through a variety of venues. We often cook together using traditional French recipes. On some nights we go out for group dinners. In any case, our students eat authentic, quality food, as opposed to fast food or tourist meals. GCAC offers a 10-day learning adventure in London, Paris, and Lucerne. Bring your good walking shoes because we will tour London to see the Tower of London, Westminster Abbey, and Buckingham Palace. Then, we'll enjoy an evening of theater performance before going to Paris to take in the Louvre Museum, the Eiffel Tower, and the Palace of Versailles. A train will take us to Lucerne, where we’ll be entertained with a show focusing on Swiss folklore, tour Lucerne’s Old Town and Civil Defense Facility, and then take a day trip to visit the picturesque alpine village of Grindelwald and see the mountains and lakes surrounding Interlaken. Atelier Neo Medici invites students and professional painters to the Aquitaine region of France for a two-month intensive painting workshop. The "Technique Mixte" Painting Workshop teaches an approach to painting known as the technique mixte, which has its antecedents with the early Northern masters. This technique employs a tempera underpainting over which oil colors are glazed, enabling the artist to achieve a profoundly intricate level of detail and greater luminosity of color than oil paint alone can produce. Students are encouraged to work between classes and have permanent access to the atelier 24/7. All materials are provided. However, students wanting to advance more rapidly should come with at least one finished drawing in pencil of compressed charcoal (Cretacolor), on a gessoed canvas or panel, though additional paintings will be started during the two months. Brushes will be provided, but students can bring their own as well.

Since 1996, the New York Film Academy (NYFA) has conducted unique and exciting intensive filmmaking and acting programs in Paris. NYFA’s film workshops are held at the French National Film School of France (La Fémis), one of the world’s most prestigious film institutes. NYFA’s Paris program is held in the historic Pathé Studios in the 18th arrondissement (district), within spacious classrooms, meeting spaces, shooting studios, post-production facilities, and state-of-the-art screening rooms. The school is within walking distance of the glorious cathedral, Sacre Coeur, with spectacular city views. More casually, superior fruit markets, bakeries, brasseries, and restaurants abound in the neighborhood.
