Teach English: ESL Reviews
They say it's intense for a reason!

This course was fantastic but not for the faint of heart! It can be rough if you are not academically centered or disorganized. It's going to be hard work but still fun. I definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for practical experience as well as an immersive one abroad. The classes are designed for you to teach in person as well as seek guidance for lesson planning which are both pivotal. Luke and Melanie are the dynamic duo of teachers with opposite teaching styles and very approachable about any and all questions.
The town that the course is taught in, Barva, is safe, locals are friendly and it is accessible to everything. The home stay family that I was placed with are amazing people and have not only shared so much of their culture and warmth with me, but accelerated my confidence with conversational Spanish. If you are hesitant about living with strangers, I don't blame you, but it's only for a month (and it could be the best month of your life!).
Some advice I have if you plan on moving here permanently after the course: be warned that the Central Valley is not near the beach. The majority of English schools and population of Ticos are in the valley so keep that in mind when searching for work and housing post-course. Most of the students will be business individuals that are learning English through their work place. Before applying to places decide what kind of commute and/or your demographic of students you would like to teach. The TESOL course gives great resources to you for all types of teaching in Costa Rica and ITA breaks down detailed country-to-country info for teachers.

One of the greatest experiences I've ever gone through! I have to start by saying how Chiang Mai is an incredibly beautiful and magical city, that I would have never discovered if not for this opportunity to teach English brought to me by Teach English: ESL. For this alone I am so grateful. Jessica makes the entire transitional process from wherever you're coming from to Thailand seem extremely easy. A process I most likely would have not been able to manage all on my own. I highly recommend Teach English: ESL to anybody interested in teaching English in Thailand. Thanks again and keep up the great work!

The course is very intense and a lot of hard work but it is so worth it, was such a great experience and met a lot of wonderful people, would definitely recommend this course as long as you're not work shy.
