Lebanese American University

The Lebanese American University was created in 1835 by Presbyterian missionaries. The University originated in the desire to extend education to women at a time when few possibilities existed. The missionaries noticed the prevalent illiteracy among girls in Beirut and from there took up in their hands the project of offering classes to the local population. Over the decades we’ve been known as the best female boarding school in the region of Beirut. Today we continue our excellent work of educating the next generations.
