Great Volunteer Project!
February 11, 2014by: Marissa - Chicago, IllinoisBooking with Kaya was a great experience, and they were very accommodating for me even though I was only booking a few months prior to my desired departure date. They helped me to find a program that was a great fit for me- and they succeeded! The teaching project in Livingstone, Zambia was amazing! I didn't even have any teaching skills before arriving, but the staff and other volunteers are very helpful in showing you the ropes while you get used to volunteering. We started out the day teaching at the schools and then had a break for lunch. In the afternoon we participated in other various projects such as at after school reading clubs or the old people's home. I met so many lifelong friends through my project, and I would highly recommend working with Kaya to plan your volunteer trip abroad.
Elephant Welfare in Eastern Mahout Communities
August 15, 2014by: ImboonThe whole program was amazing. I was picked up from the airport. My luggage had been lost, so the man who picked me up took me to get some essential items. The program itself was unbelievable. Waking up to elephants and spending all day with them is indescribable. I got to do everything with them, from feeding to swimming with them. It was so amazing to watch them play together and interact with their mahouts. The people who worked with the project were great. I was in tears when I had to leave because it was the best experience of my life.
Volunteer Borneo
August 27, 2014by: IngieI had a great time, good experience! People very friendly, also people from kaya send me email how I was doing. At that moment I was the only volunteer. But I would recommend Borneo to everybody. Homestay was very nice!

I wanted some work experience that was related to working with animals. In the UK there were very limited opportunities as I was only 16, so when my parents suggested volunteering abroad I was very interested. I'm also going to university next year so I wanted to start doing things by myself and developing my independence.
