April 28, 2008by: lafontaine - IrelandButler offers you two living options: Gort Na Coiribe and Corribe Village. I lived in Gort Na Coiribe with one American and 3 Irish girls. Having Irish flatmates really made my experience amazing. My friends on the program living in Corribe Village didn't have nearly the same kind of exposure to the Irish college kids (b/c they were living only with Americans and other international students) and they all regretted that living situation. Galway is a fantastic college town with tons to do, lots and lots of fun. All Irish students go home on the weekends, so you'll want to find a group of friends from your program to go traveling with. Getting to places in the continent can be more of a challenge because of Galway's more remote location, but we never really let that stop us.

We are glad you had a great time! Could you tell us what made you rank academics so low at UCL?

March 08, 2009by: KHizon - United KingdomI highly recommend going through IFSA-Butler. They provide good and useful services there - e.g. transport from the airport, separate orientation, weekend excursions, and counseling and advice. The staff is also really friendly. I had a really memorable experience on this program!

What inspired you to travel abroad?
I studied abroad with IFSA as an undergrad and loved the balance of support that came from going with a provider. Also, I loved the independence I still had as I was directly enrolled at a local university. I could forge my own experience, but still have someone to go to when I had questions or felt homesick. Working with IFSA gives me the chance to pay that experience forward and help guide students on their own journeys!

What inspired you to travel abroad?
I like traveling and learning new things. I am open and accepting of learning about new cultures. I want to go into the medical field in the future. Every country has its own system of things such as schooling, education, healthcare and common diseases. Since I want to go into the medical field, I thought it was important to gain medical knowledge globally just because every place is different.
