Students choose between landbased or on-board excursions that range from 12-24 days. For those who chose sailing or scuba diving, they may earn advanced certifications. In addition, college credit is available for biology, wildlife, and veterinary science participants. Students at Broadreach explore in small groups with like-minded peers. Best month of my life!

From diving multiple times every day to experiencing life on a boat, I have never had something so challenging be such an amazing experience. There were many things that I learned this past summer living on the EMA III with my new friends, but the thing that I learned the most about was myself. I now have a passion for travel, and not just the tourist type of travel. The kind where you get to sit down and talk with the people who live there, really be immersed in their culture. It was the greatest experience of my life! So many people asked me if I'd do it again and I said I would, in a heartbeat! I would recommend any broadreach trip to anyone! It was the best month of my life and I wouldn't want anyone to miss out on the experience that I had.
Peru and its wonders
November 11, 2013by: Micah Robin - Big SkyPeru is an amazing country with a unique history and culture. My time there, though it was short, was an incredible break from reality. Those three and a half weeks of my life were unreal. I found myself doing things that I would have never thought to do and when I returned home I found myself missing Peru and all my friends more than I had missed my home. I was part of something truly great that I will never forget. I never would have be able to experience a different country and culture in such a cool way with new friends and unforgettably amazing councilors if it wasn't for the Broadreach. It is an amazing program and recommend it to anyone who wants to travel or is just in seek of an adventure.

I decided to go abroad so I could experience something completely new. As beautiful and diverse as I know the world is, I had only seen a sliver of what it had to offer; by traveling to a new hemisphere, a new continent, a new country, and new ecosystems, I knew I could maximize my exposure, while also learning and becoming more culturally aware. I wanted to see how other people live and get a glimpse of the planet with their worldviews, so I could feel a stronger connection with the world.

I have always loved traveling. My Dad's entire family lives in England, so for longer than I can remember I've been going to Europe. I love learning about different cultures and seeing how people live their lives, and that ruled out domestic trips. I had never been to the Caribbean before, but knew that I was going to be taking Latin American studies when senior year started; I thought it’d be amazing to go and experience a place I'd be learning about for months, in a way that most people wouldn't have the chance to. I chose to learn about the Caribbean through science and exploration, instead of on a cruise ship, and I'm so happy that I did.
